Ordered some fried chicken, gumbo, and jambalaya. Been here for 4 days and mad I didn’t try it sooner, so far the best meal for the buck. Keep it up!

The corn grits are amazing!! One Thursday's they offer $5 32 oz Daiquiris, I got the dirty banana flavor and it was good! my red beans and rice were alright. The prices are nice but the people working there aren't as friendly as I'd like. will return.

Melba's is a short order, counter-service type place...on par with Bud's Broiler. We had the roast beef and philly po-boy. Hit the spot! I want to come back to try the wings. Plenty of seating in the side room.

Good place with potential. The days after Christmas I was riding the Megabus out of New Orleans and saw Melba's and I liked the way the location looked. Semi-seedy neighborhood but with gaudy signs...I mean we all know the best food comes from places where you think you could get robbed. I returned to New Orleans on this past Thursday (Jan 16th 2014) and this was the first stop I made. I grabbed a smoked sausage poboy and my girlfriend grabbed the shrimp. The customer service was good and we headed to the hotel. I liked my poboy but I was slightly disappointed that it was a traditional hillshire farm style beef (tasted like beef) sausage. I just think that with it being New Orleans it would be nice to see an andouille sausage. I know french poboy bread usually has a bit of a crunch but this one seemed a bit too crunchy I mistook it for borderline stale, it makes me wonder who their supplier is because the Lee burger on french bread uses Leidenheimer and there weren't nearly as many crumbs produced. For the record my girlfriend at her shrimp poboy with no complaints. We returned this past Saturday (Jan 18th) and my gf got shrimp again with no complaint and I got the hot sausage poboy. I don't think I would get it again, I'm not from NO, I'm a MS Delta boy and I don't know what type of sausage is normally used for a hot sausage poboy but this one seemed as if it was of inferior quality. It tasted cheap, like it was not real meat. I would liken it to those 5 dollar Flanders soy burgers you get from Wal-Mart in the orange box.

As the title suggest I didn't come to bury them so much as motivate them to step it up. I love the location, loved the customer serves, loved the prices and drink selection but I'd like to see fresher bread, a cajun/andouille sausage and a better hot sausage. I WILL RETURN THOUGH!!!

I came to Melba’s because I was doing laundry next door. Boy, am I glad I did! I wasn't hungry because we are about 30 minutes before coming here but I just had to try the gumbo. 🥰🥰🥰 Out of this world! Perfectly spiced age really loaded with chicken and sausage. It was absolutely delicious. I wish I'd known about this place before we ate, it would have been great to try a few different things. Everything looked she smelled delicious! I would 💯 come here when if it's a detour! Please click the 👍🏾if you liked this review and follow me for more reviews! Thank you.

I got a cup of gumbo right before I left the city which was good. I love that they are open 24hrs, that way I can take a piece of New Orleans food before I go. I was disappointed that they didn't have any muffaletta except the minis sandwiches which I feel like is more bread than substance. Whenever I'm back in New Orleans, I'll definitely go back! Thanks for the good food and good service.

I really like the back patio/entrance and I absolutely loved the different fiction and nonfiction books on display. Also, if you purchased a book, you’d get a free daiquiri! They even had a display of all the children’s colorings on their walls. I got a bourbon chicken plate with green beans and to my surprise it came with a delicious 🤤 piece of cornbread! A friend recommended this restaurant. There was no wait at all and the food was delicious 😋 for a late night dinner! I intermediate fast and only eat between the hours of 12a.m.-4 or 5a.m. So this was right up my alley!

Melba’s is a cool spot and the shrimp poboy lives up to the hype. One of the best in the city, hands-down.

Melbas goid was delicious! The server was rude at first but the cook came out and greeted us abd made up for the rude server. The Cook was funny and just had great service. The dirty banana daiquiri was the bomb! It was strong but it wasn't too strong to where it overpowered the fabulous banana flavor!

Super fun place to stop for some food and drinks. The ordering kiosks are convenient and easy to use but you need to be mindful of making errors as it won't be immediately obvious that you forgot to make a choice and you'll end up not having the item in your cart. I had the hot sausage po'boy and it had a nice kick. An order of bread pudding is enough for two. Not the best bread pudding I have ever had but not the worst. Probably would not get it again.

Melba's is a great place to pickup some delicious food that is very budget friendly. You walk in, order your food on a monitor, and wait until your food is ready. Granted they do take a little bit of time to get your food ready but it's well worth the wait. I ordered the Bourbon Asian chicken plate and the 5 Pc chicken tenders. Both were really good. The chicken is thick cut and tastes excellent. You can't go wrong stopping by to eat at Melba's.

This was a great late night spot for after the club. The place was neat, fun, and a different vibe. The food was good & they had a nice variety at such a late hour. However, I’m here to rave about the great service! I’m not sure if the guy was a manager or the owner, however, we ordered off the kiosk and they didn’t have breakfast at that time we ordered, but he got in the kitchen and made our order fresh to go. We could have just ordered something else, but since we ordered and payed at the kiosk, he honored it and made it happen.

Who ever Melba is , I salute her because it’s so obvious that other than being a great business genius, I can tell that she values literacy. Kids get free books and when you purchase a book for the kids, you get incentives. The food is good and I love how involved with the community this business seems to be

Eat here, get smarter! With a full menu of favorites and a daiquiri bar, they feed the body. With a kids book vending machine and a wall of other titles, they feed the mind. Enjoyed my fried shrimp plate with mac and cheese and cornbread a lot!
