This Christmas, we turned to Geisha Sushi Bistro in New Orleans for a comforting Japanese meal, and it didn't disappoint. Starting with the miso soup, it was the warm, familiar taste we expected, setting a comforting tone for the meal.
The grilled salmon salad, while slightly overcooked leading to a bit of dryness, was brightened by a delicious citrus ginger dressing. It was a refreshing part of our order.
The beef yaki udon, a flavorful stir-fried noodle dish, was a standout with its perfectly cooked noodles and savory beef. In contrast, the chicken udon soup was a heartening affair, featuring a savory broth filled with tender chicken, vegetables, and mushrooms - a real comfort food.
Our sushi choice, the Spring Love roll, was typical of Japanese fare but still enjoyable. Each element of our meal felt like a classic representation of Japanese cuisine.
Although the food didn’t particularly wow us, it was a solid, enjoyable experience. The biggest plus was finding Geisha Sushi Bistro open on Christmas Day, making our holiday meal convenient and comforting. Overall, it’s a well-deserved 4 stars for providing a reliable Japanese dining experience in New Orleans.
Very great place to eat. The food was great. I highly recommend the poke bowl..it had great flavor and was very fulfilling. Sushi was very fresh tasting.
Had a wonderful time! Absolutely marvelous sushi! We took the Geisha Kiss and the House Dragon roll, and were blown away by it!
This is among the best sushi and service I have had in a long time. The menu was clear organized, and easy to navigate. The restaurant is very clean and inviting. Our server was so good for our table. Drinks and refills were spot on as well as the recommendations since this is our first time here. Our meal was prepared with passion. Steak hibachi was my favorite! I will recommend anyone to try this restaurant.
Freshly made sushi’s. Salmon fried rice was something uncommon which is well done. Clear mushroom soup is good but it jus had two pieces of mushrooms. Quantity and quality is pretty good. Great service. Restrooms need attention as it was very bad. Ambience is pleasant.
I liked this place. Service was good, food was fresh and good and nice atmosphere. I got the sushi deluxe and was stuffed after word. We had some really good cold saki with our meal. I’d recommend if your in the mood for Japanese food.
Nice service, speedy seating. Food was tasty and well priced. The udon broth was a bit heavy on the salt/soy sauce. But noodle texture was good. Enjoyed our experience.
Absolutely phenomenal lunch we had at Geisha. Highly recommended to stop here, for vegans as well! I eat seafood, my wife eats a vegan diet, and we both loved every bite of our meal. We ordered the Geisha and Cucumber Smash drinks to start, tofu steak to share, and she has the avacado roll with soy paper and an avacado salad, I enjoyed the Hidden Dragon roll without spicy mayo and we both could not be happier with choosing to come here for lunch! Our server Ailyn was wonderful, helpful on menu items, and so friendly! Will come back for sure!
Geisha Sushi Bistro was located in a great central downtown area (but just a short walk from the ferry) and didn’t disappoint. The waitress was very kind and recommended the best part of our meal: spicy, creamy ramen with added pork slices. The steamed pork gyoza were great. For sushi, we had the usual spicy tuna and smoked salmon rolls, as well as the more extravagant G6 and Crouching Tiger rolls- all wonderful.
This cozy restaurant has left the best impressions! Hospitable hosts, delicious dishes, beautiful presentation. The whole experience from start to finish is great waitress. His name is TP who always so friendly. Always a great spot to get great food. I recommend to everyone! I would like to come back here again and again.
