Bar Tonique

Consistently incredible & best value in the quarter! THIS is THE place to have a Ramos Gin Fizz! They take forever to make so you'll have to order something for "now" & the Ramos for later (so you'll have something to drink while you wait.) I was introduced to Bar Tonique by my friend of 14 years, Tiny, who is a local tour guide. I've had the Ramos here made by two different bartenders 5 years apart and it's been flawless every time. I've ordered it at many other New Orleans bars and nobody else gets it right. This is the only bar that actually takes the time to let the head set properly. They do all the other classics just as well and have a great selection of bourbon. Superior Service and friendly atmosphere. It really is better and CHEAPER than any other place around. Don't forget to tip!

Can't rave enough about this place! At 2/3rds the price of the other bars, with way better quality of drinks - this was our hands down favorite bar in NoLa! The bartender was exceptional - making atleast 3 drinks simultaneously at any point of time. The Moscow Mule was fresh, all the ingredients fresh, and the sazerac was much better than their $20 counterparts around Bourbon Street. Cocktails at $9 were incredibly well priced. Cannot recommend this place enough!

Bar Tonique is an absolute gem in New Orleans! Bud, the talented bartender, made my visit exceptional. His impressive mixology skills, warm personality, and attention to detail created a memorable experience. The bar's cozy vintage decor and extensive drink selection added to the fantastic atmosphere. The entire staff provided top-notch service, making me feel like a valued guest and made it easy to converse with the other patrons inside. Don't miss out on Bar Tonique - it's a must-visit spot! A great place to go for happy hour (2-5pm) and rotating $6 daily drink specials. The place is quite small, which lends itself to people talking and getting to know one another. The drinks were great and were actually one of the best values we experienced on our trip. The bartenders were cool as well. Much more low key (and fun) than Bourbon Street. Their list of different alcohols is nothing to scoff at! Worth a visit.

I didn't take pictures of all the cocktails that we had because there were too many (happy hour 😁), but I LOVED them all. Every single drink that I tasted was amazing. The bartender was super friendly and very knowledgeable. Also, his music taste was awesome! I had my Shazam app open the whole time. I can't wait to go back. Neat experience.

Came across this dope bar one late night in New Orleans and it did not disappoint. Very chill and low key with great drinks. Here are my takeaways: Environment Located right on the outskirts of the quarters, very low key and intimate. At night it's very chill and dim with good energy and a relaxed ambiance. It has a divy vibe - right when you walk in you'll see plenty of bar seating with with a few tables around the space. They also have pretty decent amount of outside seating right on the sidewalk. This seems like a place that you can easily become a regular at. Service The service was great. They had one bartender managing the full bar and she was doing a great job getting drinks out in a timely fashion. It was easy to order and get what you need. Drinks The cocktails were great and strong! For the quality and the price you can't beat it (especially compared to what I'm used to here in DC). This will definitely be a place I stop by next time I'm in New Orleans. Overall Great bar, great service and most importantly great quality drinks. Please stop by here as soon as you can. It will be a go to when I'm in the city.

I'm a fan of a good happy hour and this one was worth it. The cocktails felt artisanal but the bar still had a dark/dive vibe, which is exactly what we were looking for. All that taken into account, the quality of drinks was very impressive and service was great. I will definitely visit this spot next time I'm in New Orleans!

Seriously good, and fun! Relatively inexpensive drinks and a happy hour. Small place doesn’t feel small. Bartender is very skilled and makes amazing drinks. Also, great sodas. Historic downtown building. Great sound system. Bar seating, comfortable booths/tables and backroom seats. Street parking only.
