I found the Chart Room 30 years ago. Still my best find in N.O. It remains the best place to sit and watch the world go by.

Was back in NOLA last week and had been in The Chart Room last time I was there. Had the best bloody Mary and wanted to go back. Couldn't remember the name of this place, but, after weaving in and out of the streets in the quarter we found it again. Staff is very friendly. Not into the touristy bars at all. Love a local dive bar. Can't wait to go back!

If I were forced to name the one quintessential New Orleans dive bar, the Chart Room would have to be at the top. Great and very friendly service, liberal pours and a great grungy atmosphere. This place has it all. This is a cash only bar, but with an ATM in house. A primarily locals bar that anyone should fit right in to. Most people love it and if you get the concept chances are you will too.

Hotel Al RIP 6/1/2023. Hotel Al, worked at the Hotel Monteleone for nearly 65 years. Update 4/22/22 - French Quarter Festival Weekend Update 2/25/2022 – NOLA Mardi Gras 2022 – As always, we hit the Chart Room Bar, The Carousel Bar, and Pat O’ Brien’s when visiting New Orleans. Best dive bar in the french quarter! The Juke box has a great selection of music. A friendly COV warning. - 1/6/22 was the beginning of the 2022 NOLA Mardi Gras. The Joan of Arc parade is always a masterpiece. The 2022 procession was led by — what else? — Medieval Plague Doctors. The Joan of Arc parade was scheduled for Thursday, Jan. 6, 7 p.m., French Quarter. A friendly warning: My wife and I are fully vaccinated and tested positive on 1/10/22. We had very mild symptoms. The symptoms were a common cold, such as cough, fever, and headache. There was no need for Hospitalization or Doctor Visit. Medicine: Over the counter Mucinex DM and Doctor’s prescription: Fluticasone Propionate Nasal spray. Stay Safe!

Been drinking the $2 Draft Highlife and the ice cold Heineken here since 1998! Always good drinks and best prices too. Love the New Orleans music on the old jukebox! Lots of Quarter locals in the day and service industry peeps late at night. Friendly bartenders too! Thanks for letting me hang out y'all.

I was told this place was where the locals hang out and I can see why. Great spot right on the corner. Bartenders were very friendly and attentive. It’s cash only, but they have an ATM right in the bar for you.

This place was a nice place for a quick stop. We needed a place to sit down for a few minutes because we had been walking all day. There are tables and benches to sit at. The staff was very friendly. Restrooms are in the very back.

Update 11/26/2021 Thanksgiving weekend. Chart Room. Bayou Classic Parade. Update 7/31/2021 – Louis “Satchmo” Armstrong Summerfest Update 5/19/21: Sheraton Hotel 36th floor Riverview . Update 4/21/22: More pictures of our last visit. April 4, 2021 (Easter Sunday) Update: Sunday afternoon we stopped by the Chart Room Bar on Chartres and Bienville a block from The Monteleone Hotel. The Chart Room is a local bar and very small. However, The Chart Room Bar is one of our favorite stops in the French Quarter. February 2021 Update: After 4 frigid days without power or water, we were able to get out of Texas and take a hot shower in New Orleans. Our last visit to NOLA was in November 2020 and there were not many people in the French Quarter. We need to support the NOLA hospitality people. New Orleans is coming back. We’re planning to go back to NOLA in April (God willing). November 2020 review: Best dive bar in the french quarter! The juke box has a great selection of music.

Nice, dark and quiet beer bar... that’s the way I want it... bar-woman was so sweet and kind and they have a great beer selection but try their draft beers for sure... everything was perfect and the music was suitable... cheep quality bar for me... worth to pay a visit...

Adorable dive bar. With strong cheap drinks and quick service. It was cash only but there is an ATM on site!
