Was deciding between this place and Mulate's for lunch and boy and I happy about the choice! It was almost across the street from our hotel and wasn't too busy on a Friday for lunch. Our server, a New Orleans native, was awesome, efficient, friendly, and truly passionate about his job! I had their version of margarita to drink. For starters we had their two soups; Crab and Bacon Chowder and Gumbo. Oh.My.God. Both were absolutely to die for. For our entrees we had the shrimp po' boy (delicious even if it could have used a smidge more shrimp) and the strawberry and goat cheese salad. It was an excellent first meal in New Orleans.

A meal to remember and celebrate! With the Head Chef shucking oysters, had the absolute best time discussing the menu and enjoying fresh and grilled Louisiana Coastal shellfish, and the most awesome double pork chop I have ever had. It's not often I buy the kitchen staff drinks but tonight was the night.

Great start to our New Orleans trip. Best to have a reservation. We came in for dinner Friday night and the place was quite full. Oysters were very good. Turtle soup was very rich, not for my taste. Gumbo was good. Cocktails were very good. We had 3 different cocktails but the one we remember was the smoked old fashioned.

Excellent food and fun environment. Every dish was incredible--Alligator Bites, Seafood Gumbo, and Fried Tomato Salad to start. The Swamp Pasta was one of the best pasta dishes I've ever had. Ordered Creme Brulee' and Bananas First bread pudding for dessert--both were top notch. We are only in town for a few days, but highly tempted to go back!

If I say anything on this review, is commending the chef for the delicious cornbread! They brought it out complimentary before any of the other food came and wow it was so good! I ate mine and my daughter’s 😅 the gumbo and chargrilled oysters was also very good. Great experience overall, the staff was friendly and the atmosphere was pretty chill

Fantastic! Great food, great service. Sat at the bar for dinner, wish I could remember our bartender/waitress's name, she was very personable and make great recommendations. Made us her recommended non-alcoholic drinks. Started with alligator creole, an amazing two-rib stuffed smoked pork ribeye(Pork LaPlace) with red beans and rice. Bananas foster dessert. All were her recommendations, and all were delicious. Would definitely go again when in town. Go.

Surprising and Delightful experience!! This small treasure on Julia is a most go! The amazing Crawfish and Chorizo Empanadas appetizers; the Pork Chop LaPlace and the perfect vanilla crème brûlée were sublime. Their secret….the cornbread….omg…I NEVER ate anything like it!! I thought it was cake😂. I am now having a craving for it…not good😂. The staffs was very attentive and even suggested wine that end up been a winner. Ms Debbie was so caring and attentive and made our dinner very special. My only complain is…I can only give it a 5 stars…wish it could be more😊. If you visit the area…a MUST go!!

The service was amazing ! This cozy restaurant was change of pace from all the touristy spot we hit up in New Orleans . They serve southern Cajun food. Make a reservation!

Food was great , wait staff very polite - but lacking, I posted a very kind review on open table, but today I went to eat my left overs, and the wait staff lived up to expectations- word advice don’t let them box your leftovers!
