This place was a fantastic dining experience. Hostess was attentive, server was very well versed on the menu and helpful with guiding us through our many selections ( 2/3 of the menu for the five of us) and also very attentive. Food was simple with elegant components well executed and deliberate in their presence on the plate. Excellent price point for the quality If experience. If you are in New Orleans try this place.
Went for our Anniversary in March, and had one of our favorite meals, just meats on top of meats to no end. Bone marrow and pork belly apps and a pork on pork entree for 2. All amazing.
It was chartreuse night so we had lots of that, and we asked if they would slide us some extra shots of chartreuse down the bone like they used to and they happily obliged. The very nice busboy accidentally took our leftovers to the trash when we went out for a smoke, so they bought us one last drink.
We stumbled home happily and 9 months later our baby was born.
Probably will turn out an expensive dinner, overall, and maybe because of that last free drink, but we won't hold that against them.
5 star meal, 5 star lagniappe. See you next anniversary, but we'll probably try to drink ourselves to sleep this time.
What a delicious brunch! We highly suggest trying the brunch menu that you can pick two items. It's an amazing deal, they are full size plates & yummy food! Loved that we found a local spot in the French Quarter.
This was one of the best meals we had while in Nola. The service was very good and friendly. I kind of wished we ate here one more time before we left. FYI: The popcorn isn't as good as it sounds.
The service was excellent. The escargo and pork belly were amazing. The popcorn had duck fat and somehow that was yummy too. The gnocchi and carpaccio were not my favorite though. Great ambience.
This was a recommendation from a local. I actually visited by myself because I needed some time alone to enjoy a fine dinner away from the "touristy" areas. It was an awesome place. Cozy ambiance. Cocktails on point. I enjoyed the escargot and the LA amadine fish ( which was a bit zesty for my liking, however that is a taste preference). Great staff also. I will visit again.
Meauxbar had been on the "to do" list for some time, and since we were coming into the French Quarter to help another friend celebrate his birthday, we decided to have Sunday brunch here first. My gin cocktail was listed under "Strange and Adventurous" and included green tea, shochu, loganberry, lemon, whey, cucumber and strega. Those ingredients might sound a little different, but the result was quite delicious! My friend had only the deviled eggs of the day and while we both enjoy garlic, they had a LOT of garlic. I had the Sweet Potato Hash with Duck Confit and a fried egg, which I enjoyed, but would have liked even more if the egg had been over easy so that the yolk would have mixed with the hash. Lindsay, our server, did a fine job.
My husband and I hunted down this restaurant specifically for the Yal-A-Mein. We were staying in an Airbnb only a few blocks away and saw this restaurant listed on eater and with this convenient location we thought it was worth a try! We are so glad that we went! We walked in on a Friday around 5 o'clock without a reservation. They were able to sit us at a table but also had a few open spots at the bar as well. The atmosphere was Gothic with classy revival and had a very cool modern New Orleans vibe.
We ordered the bone marrow appetizer that I think was around $15 and the Yak-A-Mein was 18 I believe. My husband lived in China for two years and has become a total Asian foodie and he was absolutely in love with the Yal-A-Mein. Saw where there was a happy hour menu listed as well with several of the appetizers highly discounted and a list of cocktails for five dollars. My husband had a Moscow Mule which he thought it tasted great and I had a drink that resembled a martini and it was great as well. Both drinks for five dollars which I thought was amazing price for a hand crafted cocktail especially in New Orleans.
Or wait staff was knowledgeable and friendly and the restaurant was well staffed and clean. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone especially if you need a day after too much fun cure!
Fantastic flavors, beautiful dishes, and an exciting winelist. Good service and charming decor as well.
Excellent service, from our waiter to the maitre-d. Drinks were interesting and delicious. The food was very good, albeit a little on the heavy side (even for New Orleans).
Delicious pain perdu (French toast) and crepes with seasonal fruit. And reasonably priced bottomless mimosas with bonus tinctures to customize your drink. Service was also great.
Excelent experience. We had a reservation. Food is amazing, service awesome and have a great time. Hightly recommended.
