I got the strawberry lemonade cupcake. It was great...a little on the sweet side but yummy start to finish. I would eat it again.

We hired Bittersweet to create our wedding cake for our “romantic swamp” wedding in October 2023. I (the bride) am a total reptile fan, so I wanted a “scaly” element. My groom was… um… less excited about that. Bittersweet did a phenomenal 4-tiered classic cake (classic vanilla-almond wedding cake sponge) with gator skin texture on two of the tiers. They also did a matcha green tea buttercream filling in one of the tiers as a nod to my love of tea. Cake was incredibly moist and tasty. And we got many compliments on how it actually tasted as great as it looked (rare for wedding cakes). We appreciated how Bittersweet was able to incorporate my personal elements and interpret them in a classy and creative way. Completely in love!

Staying in NOLA and walked down to find breakfast. Our hotel served a breakfast buffet, but I wanted fresh hot and not sitting on the counter for hours. So glad I popped in here! I thought it was just a bakery from the outside and I wanted “real” breakfast food but looked at the menu and they offer a good variety of breakfast, like omelettes eggs grits, etc. fresh squeezed juice is an excellent plus, delicious. Goat cheese in the market omelette was perfect. Reasonably priced, a little more than regular restaurants back home, but this is tourist town of course. The server was so nice and helpful, gave me several options for juices and coffee servings. Definitely a 5 star review from me.

My husband and I were over the moon with the wedding cake Bittersweet created for us. When I walked through the doors of our venue for the first time, I cried just looking at the cake. Not only did it look absolutely beautiful, it tasted SO GOOD!! Our guests are still talking about it. We are also so happy with the service we received from Cheryl and the team at Bittersweet. Thank you so much creating such a special piece of our day :)

Went here for breakfast, I got the breakfast wrap which was delicious. The first time it came out, it had sausage instead of bacon. But they quickly got me a replacement and even came out to apologize which was very sweet. My friend really enjoyed her breakfast sandwich on a croissant. They also had a new seasonal chocolate chip pumpkin cake that we had a slice of that was yummy!

As a first time customer, I thought this place was amazing. The staff, the drinks and the pastries. I ordered a German chocolate cake for my sisters birthday early on Saturday and we were doing our tourist thing all day. I stopped in and spoke with the owner and she went above and beyond to deliver our cake to the hotel because our pick up time was conflicting with our gator tour. Excellent customer service!! The cake was beautiful as well as delicious. If I could give more stars, I would. Definitely will be back when I am in New Orleans.

Bittersweet did my wedding cake and it was divine! Not only was it beautiful but absolutely delicious and moist! We did a chocolate/vanilla layer with almond cream in the middle and buttercream on the outside. I had multiple people come up to me and say it was the best wedding cake they've ever had. I can't wait to go back to NOLA and order a cupcake version!

I’m so glad I found this little gem. The space is super clean, and the staff was very welcoming. I stopped in for breakfast, and it was perfect. I had the classic breakfast which is fully customizable. I also grabbed some treats “to go” to enjoy later from the well appointed pastry and dessert cases. Highly recommend!

Bittersweet Confections made our wedding cake and groom’s cake, and we were blown away by amount of detail! Both of the cakes were delicious and they were very easy to work with. We would highly recommend them to anyone in the area!

We hired Bittersweet for both our Wedding Cake and Groom’s cake. Their cakes were excellent in both taste and design. Our wedding cake was a very traditional--5 tiers with almond/wedding cake outer icing, almond/wedding cake, and cream cheese filling. Not only was it easily one of the best–if not the best–cake we’ve ever tasted, the design was elegant and perfectly matched our wedding. They also worked with us to create a stencil for the outer icing which matched the design of the bride’s veil and was absolutely beautiful. The Groom’s cake was a chocolate cake with cookies and cream icing and oreo garnish. We decided to go with Bittersweet for the Groom’s Cake well after we’d asked them to make the wedding cake and they worked with me to schedule a tasting during my bachelor weekend in New Orleans on pretty short notice. With no direction from me other than the flavors I wanted they made a Groom’s cake that was not only delicious, but was also a perfect companion to the Wedding Cake. Overall, Bittersweet made delicious, perfectly designed cakes, and were very accommodating in doing so. We would highly recommend them and can’t wait to enjoy the top tier of our cake on our anniversary! Photos by James Shaw Photography.
