Was a awesome place ,awesome service and the food was great. Definitely a place to bring your children .They even give the children free ice cream as a dessert on the house. Ended up going here after another place felled to mention on their website (despite saying sushi and their name) that they didn't have sushi anymore . It was so worth driving the opposite direction . I highly recommend this place
I went for lunch with my 5 year old son. Kid friendly place, small indoor section, larger outdoor section. There was only 1 waitress and thus she was busy, could def use another waitress during peak lunch hours. The food was delicious! I enjoyed my bento box.
Little gem, cozy place with really good and delicious food, everything was freshly made, steaming hot and well presented. Once you step in you will be greeted nicely and seated. The waiting es minimal, I ordered the hibachi steak lunch plate, the miso soup was excellent, the salad with their special sauce was fantastic (I'm not a salad person but this one I really liked it). The hibachi steak with rice was fresh straight from the griddle to my plate, and it was delicious! All it's flavors, the tenderness of the meat, I loved every bite. I usually don't go to Mount Pleasant but next time I know where I want to eat. 5 stars!
Absolutely fantastic! Our 4 and 1 year old love sushi but it’s always a gamble taking them into the restaurant vs getting to go- not only was this place great for our kids, it was legitimately some of the best sushi we’ve had in a while. The miso soup was so good we ended up ordering more as well. It was SO affordable too- we easily would have spent over $200 other places for what we got for $90 there. They were so kind with our small children (they make messes 😬) and even gave us some free dessert! We will absolutely be back when we are in the area again and will recommend to everyone!

We were in the mood for sushi and based off reviews we decided to give Sushi Taro a shot. They have half price bottles of wine Sun-Wed so how bad could it be? We went in for an early dinner and ordered a bottle of wine, then started with wasabi dumplings, for our entree we ordered the angry dragon, scam, and spicy crunchy tuna maki rolls. The kitchen was backed up with take out orders and the patrons in the restaurant so our sushi was ready before the dumplings but they held on to the sushi for a little while and when the dumplings were ready they gave us the option of getting it all at once or eating the appetizer first. We opted to get it all at one time. I had no problem with this. All of the food was delicious and fresh. We throughly enjoyed it and will be back again.
The only real issue we had was when we received the bill the bottle of wine was listed as full price. Once we brought it to the server’s attention it was corrected. When you have half priced bottles of wine for more than half of the week the customer shouldn’t have to remind you. It should be programmed into the point of sale system.
Has lunch deals.. Good food and reasonable prices..
Our first trip and definitely won't be the last. Loved everything about Sushi Taro. Sushi was fantastic and the shrimp teriyaki was delicious!! After learning of a birthday in our party they were so kind as to even bring out a birthday dessert and small gift. Highly recommend S.T.
What a great restaurant! The lunch deals are fantastic and the food is very good. The salad that comes as a side was fresh and tasty. The miso soup was perfectly balanced. We often get miso soup that is watered down, or has too much miso and is too strong. This one is delicate and delicious.
The amount of sushi for the price at lunch is great. It's very filling! We ordered basic rolls so cannot speak to creative combinations, but the more simple rolls were fresh and very good.
When we ordered green tea, we were surprised to get a whole French press brewed with whole tea leaves - yum! What a difference that makes.
Service was friendly and fast. Plenty of parking within a block.
This type offood was what my hubby wanted for his b-day...wasn't dissappointed...quite type atmosphere which was nice...will return
Everything was fantastic! We ordered the Orange Chicken with vegetable fried rice, a Rainbow Dragon roll, a Lotus roll, and the New York Strip roll. We knew the New York Strip one was going to be different, but we were surprised by how well it turned out. We are looking forward to returning next time we are in Mount Pleasant.
