After the outdoor art show on the lawn, my partner and I gathered quite an appetite and decided on Aikou on the busy South Street in Morristown. Their menu is inspired by the promise of Asian fusion cuisine, such as Japanese, Thai, and Chinese foods. We don't know too much about sushi, but there are plenty from which to choose. The interior was huge and contemporary, and the tables were well-spaced. All patrons, including ourselves, sat outside on a warm spring afternoon, people-watching as we ate our meals. As for starters, we shared their scallion pancakes, which were not greasy, and the filling was tasty with a rice wine and soy mixture. For entrees, we ordered crispy sesame chicken and chicken pad Thai. The pad Thai had a slight kick. Everything was fresh and delicious, and the portions were generous. The prices were a bit higher than at other Asian places, but the quality of their food was worth it. Their servers were attentive without being overbearing. We can recommend this place.
My wife and I were posted up in Morristown hospital recovering from the birth of our first child. The hospital food is so bad and we decided to order take out from Aikou for our last night in recovery. We ordered the Pad Thai Chicken (outstanding), Pork Gyoza (outstanding), Basil Thai Chicken (wife said it was good, not great, but she has very high standards), and the Scallion Pancakes (good, not great). The soy sauce had a tangy twang to it and I just wanted to drink it. This was a very special treat for us, and we excited to go sit down in the restaurant next time.
They have a large variety of Japanese food. Their service is great as well. You dont need reservations. Price is competitive.
Very pleased to have found this Asian-fusion restaurant. I ordered the Poke Bowl and it is highly recommended! Try it out and check out this spot during your evening stroll.
My first time eating here, walk in and was greeted fast polite and sat down. Sat in the booth and the seats were comfortable. The server took my drink order quickly after sat down. Ordered the shrimp wonton soup and had great flavor, ordered the looney tuna roll once again great flavor and fresh. Great menu a lot to choose from. I also had an order of a house Thai Basil Rice and also well flovered. Great restaurant.
Good service, but the food is a bit pricy for the quality. Overall nice atmosphere though.
Fun and friendly place for sushi, good chinese food but NOT REAL thai food. The place is very noisy after 8pm
When we order out for lunch at the office in Morristown, my favorite is Aikou! The food is consistently great. I’m especially partial to the chicken satay skewers (love that peanut sauce!) and to the great bento box lunch deals (especially the negimaki beef roll bento).
Always great sushi. Had Tuna Tataki and Carnation Roll. Lots of other Asian dishes as well.
Edit - I'm happy to update my review here as Aikou has really grown to be one of the consistently best sushi places in town.
It is pricey so I wouldn't make this a weekly spot, but when you want amazing sushi this is a great option. Also recommend the crispy duck rolls as well and the red or green curry dish.
