Visited Roots with some work colleagues during June 2023, and the experience was amazing. The waiter was VERY friendly describing all the dishes and recommended the best ones. We had some raviolis as appetizer and then we enjoyed different cuts of the most tender and juicy meet in the neighborhood. Highly recommend grabbing a good piece of this amazing product.
The service here is wonderful and the food is great! First of all, the popovers are phenomenal, the best ever I’ve ever had! The salads and sides are delicious, fresh and generously sized. We were a little disappointed that by 7 the brûlée corn casserole and creamed spinach were already gone for the evening, but we’ll be back to try them. The steaks were great and cooked perfectly as ordered. I don’t recommend the halibut, however my disappointment was handled impressively, like a page out of “Unreasonable Hospitality”. Our waiter Jake was so helpful in our ordering and so attentive! The management and staff are all focused on making the diner’s experience perfect! Cannot wait to return!
Our first time here and it was a great experience. Elegant dining area with great seating no matter where you sit. The service was spot on, very friendly staff. Great drinks and the steaks were cooked to perfection.
I am a professional chef. We tried food at this restaurant with my girlfriend for the first time. I wanted pasta even though it wasn't on the menu. Chicken with porcini mushrooms and broccoli. The pasta that came was very delicious. The service was very good. We were very pleased. Thank you so much for everything.
The food was phenomenal, and there were great recommendations from my server, Eric. Very satisfied with the experience, and I definitely plan to return.
Service was horrible. I sat at the bar like I usually do. The surface was wet, no big, it’s a bar. I politely asked if he could wipe the area down. Bartender rolled his eyes like I was bothering him. Mind you, it was not busy at all.
After ordering food didn’t give me a roll-up with utensils and napkin. I had to ask. Yet, he made sure other guest were happy.
Bar service at Roots back-in-the day was on point every visit. They were fun, talkative, and professional. Too bad they left. That crew was awesome.
Having gone here a few times, I can say it's a great higher end steak house. Food was really great - oysters, lump crab meat, filet mignon, lobster tail, broccoli, mashed potatoes.
I would say a little too much butter on most items so say light butter if you're sensitive.
Place was packed so they have food runners that aren't always sure where food goes.
I loved the restaurant and food but it is a little dark in terms of lighting.
Celebrating FIL 80th birthday. Steaks are always delicious. Big fans of the pop overs. However, the filet my daughter got was slightly over, and onion rings, while very crunchy, somewhat bland. The celebratory complimentary dessert, though, outrageous!
Food and service were absolutely outstanding. The atmosphere is elegant and refined. We were a party of 4 adults and ordered way more food than we should have, but it was worth it. Their wine list is nice and has some very good producers to choose from. I found the wine list to be very reasonably priced as well.
It is an expensive night out but worth every penny. Try it out for your next special occasion. You will not be disappointed.
My husband and I stopped here on a whim and we were able to get a table in the bar area. The bar was not that busy so it was quieter than the open dining area, which is what we wanted (a quieter table).
Our waiter was Jake A., who was very nice, attentive and professional. Our dinner took longer than anticipated, but Jake and management made up for that ten-fold with a surprise appy & dessert! This was very unexpected because we did not complain about the timing, just inquired. Kudos for this!
Our meals were delicious, cooked properly and the right temperature.
I did not order a salad, but mentioned I would have a bite of my husbands wedge salad (which was excellent). When the salad came out, it was served with 2 plates and serving tongs! Another Kudos to Jake A 🙂
