It was pretty good but overall I thought that their salmons and other fishes needed more flavor besides the constant dipping in soy sauce.
The food was absolutely delicious. It’s a small restaurant and there are customers waiting for tables to be available, but not a huge line like in large chains. It is pricey, food is delicious, portions are as expected and the service is good.
Absolutely Amazing sushi! The place is busy but well worth the wait. Will definitely be back when visiting my family member. Everything was fresh and decently priced
By far, the best sashimi I've ever had. Super fresh! Rolls were very good too. We got there when they opened on a weekday, so there wasn't a huge crowd, but seems like they'd be extremely packed on weekends. Highly recommended by an experienced sushi eater.
Ausgezeichnete, sehr kreative Sushi-Auswahl. Das Restaurant ist sehr beliebt, keine Reservationsmöglichkeit, warten ist leider angesagt. Das lohnt sich aber wirklich!. Und dauert in der Regel auch nicht zu lange. Wir kommen gerne wieder.
Food was excellent. Liked the recommendation on the bento box for lunch. Had dynamite roll with spicy tuna and chicken teriyaki. Service was great and the staff was very friendly
Yum! Went for the first time for lunch and we were very impressed. The lunch specials really can't be beat--love the bento boxes that you can customize! And I didn't feel jipped at all with the portions in the bento box. Definitely left with a fully belly!
Best sushi to date.... Perhaps it's because I live in the Midwest, but this was the freshest, best sushi I've ever had. We had two maki rolls and they were extremely well balanced and delicate. Would go back again for sure. I suggest the Big Eye Roll and the Cherry Blossom roll. Friendly/prompt service.
Ate there tonight and had a fabulous meal. We had a little of everything and couldn't stop ordering more! This place has the most delious salmon sushi in the area. The service was great and the line of people waiting to get in tonight tells the story of this great locals hangout!
If u like sushi, good sushi, EAT!. Their sushi is the best in the area and reasonably priced. its not a place that eeks ambiance but the sushi is why you are there and will come back.
We found this place chasing around Aquarium. There are several sushi places there. But we chose this one based on menu and reviews. The interior is pretty simple. The owners definitely have centered their attention more to food because the food there was delicious. We tried many things and even some people around ordered "the same" after us. Lol. Sushi was very fresh and soft enough to stay sticky. Fast service. Exactly what hungry traveller were looking for being new to this area. We left there about $200 for 3 people but it was worth it. Definitely recommend!
Everything awesome! Went her for lunch and had a great combinations of sushi. Everything was so delicious and staff was helpful with the recommendation. I would love to come back.

Very fresh fish options. Partner and I went and we enjoyed all we ordered especially the green tea cheesecake! I got the mama Mia roll and loved the little lemon wedge on top. Gave the rolls a nice freshness. Great option for local sushi while visiting Monterey.
This is my favorite sushi place in the Monterey area. It is best to get there a little bit before opening to guarantee a spot. This place really excels in sushi rolls and appetizers. The uni and mussel shooters are awesome as well as the Dragon Ball Z. We also like to get food to go sometimes and go eat down by the water. The Death Star Roll is my favorite but the Green Salmon and Kamikaze are also great. The fish quality is great so the nigiri is always delicious. Definitely try this place if you love sushi.
I came here right when they opened again at 5 pm to avoid the busy crowd. We ordered the Rainbow roll, the firecracker roll and two miso soups as an appetizer. As is tradition, I ordered a large Sapporo as well. The server and staff was extremely attentive, kind, caring and helpful. Three different staff members came up to our table so we felt well taken care of. The sushi has a very good taste and the rice doesn't taste old/stall like some other sushi places I've been to in the past. I highly recommend this sushi joint if you are in the Monterey area.
It’s a busy restaurant. We came just before dinner time and it was almost packed. Only the seats at the bar were available so we took it.
The waiter was attentive, but because there were so many customers, everyone was in a rush. They spoke fast, walked fast and served fast, but they weren’t rude at all.
The atmosphere was so nice for families on vacations like us. The food was good and fresh. We ordered chef’s sashimi dinner, which came with rice and miso soup, BBQ squid and plain udon.
The udon tasted authentic. The sashimi was fresh. The squid taste fantastic, probably our most favorite out of all 3.
Had a delicious meal, I really like this place. Sushi and combo lunch was really good, fish was so fresh and the side salad and miso soup were delicious as well. Can't wait to try more dishes.
Amazing sushi at a very reasonable price point. Staff was very friendly and attentive even during a very busy dinner rush. They had a special appetizer of shitake mushrooms stuffed with spicy Tuna, and then fried tempura style. Very good. Creative Maki.
By far the best sushi place I have ever eaten at! Fish was so fresh the pepper fin was incredible! The service was great as well. We walked in just a table for two and got seated right away, the server was very friendly and on top of everything all night. Highly recommend this place to anyone who either lives around the area or who is visiting looking for some amazing sushi!
Servers are friendly, and food is impeccable — sashimi plate (chef’s choice) is so impressive! Everything is so fresh, some even tastes refreshingly sweet, melts in your mouth (I think I had the fatty tuna med/chu toro, and was blown away by it as well as the scallop); price is great, 15 pieces for just $38, considering the area this is like a steal. The tempura is crunchy outside and soft inside. The gyoza has juicy fillings and the skin is perfect for my daughter, not super crunchy or hard like at some restaurants. We ordered 3 appetizers and 2 main dishes and it came out to be $100 with tax and tips, such a satisfying dinner! Would come back again! Only tip is to get there early, as the wait can be a bit long during peak hours or on holidays.
