Tasty Pot

I got the #1 Beef broth, medium spicy. Came with a bunch of thinly sliced beef, tofu, tofu skin, meat balls, veggies (mostly napa cabbage) and enoki.mushrooms. I had some funky bites where I had to take a big gulp of water to wash it down. Not sure what it was but it tasted mushy and sandy. Otherwise, the broth was very tasty and went well with both rice and vermicelli. Our server (seemingly the only one working the entire restaurant) was attentive and efficient. $25 for a mostly delicious warming lunch on a cold day.

Always a good place to go for hotpot. Not sure if cooks changed but this time around the flavors weren't as potent. I love making hotpot myself and though the serving size is aplenty, I've noticed the ingredients were less than when I visited. If you're not wanting to wash up a storm of veges and ingredients this place will suffice-

TIP ALERT ⚠️ - Food is great, but there's something weird going on with their tip estimates for individual bills. Two of us went there tonight. Our individual bill was $18 before tax ($19.62 total), but the individual suggested tip % amounts were based on the full combined bill of $36, not each individual bill. So if we both paid 15% according to what was on the receipt, then it would have been a 30% tip. Imagine if we had a group of friends how high this would be. We like the food here, we're both former waitresses at a similar type restaurant, but no one likes to feel taken advantage of. Hopefully this is just an honest mistake and the company will update their receipt calculations or clearly explain this amount is for the whole bill, going forward.

Food was good, but I didn't like the broth for #11 because it tasted medicinal. Therefore I wouldn't order that again. But #9 was fantastic. Service was slow but not terrible like getting our order in and getting refills, but the food came out fast once placed. It also bothered me that the water was room temperature. Overall, I would come back.

This was our first time trying Taiwanese food and we enjoyed them a lot! The food was super TASTY! Please don’t miss this place when you are around Dinkytown. It reminded me Chinese malatang (麻辣烫), but it had more choices of pots/soups and allowed you to choose the spicy level. My husband loved their Kimchi Dumpling Hot Soup. 😋 I highly recommend you to ask for their dipping sauce. It was much tastier with it!

Had the #9 Taiwanese Supreme Spicy Hot Pot. This was honestly the best choice of my life, and super delicious! If you are a person who generally cannot take spice, I do not recommend this dish. But if you love mild to spicy then this is the perfect dish for you! It was my first time getting this and no regrets at all! One thing I do not recommend getting is the Miso hot pot. I did get this my first time ever visiting tasty pot and it really strayed me away for the longest time from eating here. Years and years later I decided to try eating here again the #9 is what's going to keep me coming back :)

Such a fun and warm experience! ❤️ The food was great. My friend got the Taiwanese pot and it was my favorite! I would highly suggest getting rice over noodles due to the portion difference as shown in the photo. I took one star off because the dumplings in the soup tasted sour. I love the spicy Sichuan flavor hotpot. If you've read my review about another spot and their hotpot. This one beats it hands down. I wish I could give it more than 5 Stars. Service is fast. Food came out fast. Food came out hot and spicy. The taste is just so good. Authentic spices. I ate half way before I remeber to snap a photo 🤣. The amount of food was wow for 2 people. Definitely a must try if you like spicy food on a cold day. Yes it's still winter in MN on 5/20/2022 unfortunately.
