Everything we tried was great and the server did a great job considering he was waiting on the whole place!!!

Very charming place that feels just like a cozy family home. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, making it the perfect place to enjoy a meal. Our server was exceptionally friendly and attentive, which added to the overall positive experience.
For me the food saved this place. It had that odd smell that you find in some restaurants. The server and host were fine but seemed bored. There was a nice booth available but they stuck us at tables(which need updated.) My group of 5 all enjoyed everything we ordered and the cocktails. Pricing is fairly decent as well.
Loved the bread pudding here! Like a French toast that got dressed up for a fancy party. Coffee was perfect. I always hate when chicken sandwiches are too thick but the one here is crispy and just the right thickness. I haven't even eaten the Cobb salad I brought home yet but it looks beautiful. Great service and a nice atmosphere. Lots of vegetarian and vegan options labeled on the menu.
We enjoyed a late lunch at The Book Club. There were an abundance of vegan and vegetarian options and the food was fabulous! Our server, Monica, made it a fun experience.
Delicious, fresh, scratch, comfort, friendly, ambiance... words I'd use to describe Book Club. We had skewers and the tofu to start. All were super tasty and highly recommend. We then had the broccoli mac and a fried chickend sandwich. The chicken sandwich was top notch. The mac was also fairly tasty.
Great find! Takes reservations, outdoor patio seating available in warmer months, slightly quirky decor inside, good food, not overly crowded on a weekend morning, and the service was great! They even have a small parking lot on the south side of the building (where I would've normally expected street parking in South Minneapolis). I'd definitely come back again!
Purely delicious. A very unique menu (that changes over time).
I had the Mezcal Sour to drink and loved it!! The strong smoky taste was perfect for our winter meal.
My salmon was cooked perfectly and the cheese underneath was very well paired. Husband loved his seafood red curry!!
I have nothing to complain about. My fiancé and I shared both the fried tofu and both the steak and chicken kabobs. All were amazing. I had the Broccoli Mac and Cheese with added fried chicken. And my fiancé had the fried chicken sandwich with house made chips. Neither of us talked while eating. It met our expectations and we will be back. We went fairly late and it wasn’t busy at all.
Edit again: their happy hour is awesome! Get the steak skewers! Mac and cheese could use a bit more seasoning though.
Edit: I haven't visited this place since my last review, and it still did not disappoint. We didn't catch the bartenders name, but they were so kind and made our experience truly that much better. I love to try a little bit of everything, so they did their best to make it work for me and I was so pleased. We didn't realize they did last call for the kitchen already and the bartender went out of their way for us.
I can't say enough good things about this place. I love the vibe, service was great, they make a delicious dirty martini and if you're considering getting the grilled cheese with kimchi- don't hesitate and just order it. You will NOT regret it. This place is phenomenal and quaint in every way you'd expect a restaurant called Book Club to be.
Living only a block and a half away, our family comes to Book Club all the time. Great family joint with an eclectic and yummy menu. Everything from a nice steak to a delicious burger, great craft cocktails, and a tasty black bean huevos on the brunch menu. We also get their Fried Chicken Dinner for 2 as take-out frequently.
