The Bahn Mi's are soooooo gooooood! Absolutely loved the five spice chicken. Definitely coming back to try other items on their menu. The seasame seed dough balls (forgot what they are acutally called) are delicious too. They were warm and lightly sweet and slightly sticky - amazing! Service was quick. You order at a kiosk. I was stuffed after eating. Pretty reasonable prices too.

This is my favorite banh mi place (so far) in the twin cities… I have tried Mi Sant, Trung Nam, and Quang’s banh mi, for reference. Lu’s pate and mayo/butter(?) spread is delicious and certainly elevates the entire sandwich. The bread here is perfect, which is a common reason some banh mi places are not great Ordering is quick and easy, and their avocado smoothie boba is a 10/10. I could drink one of those every single day and be a happy, happy man. My favorite is the cold cut sandwich, which is a traditional mix of Vietnamese cold meats and vegetables The regular size is $6.75 and the pictured large is $9. If you’re not too hungry, the regular is perfect, but the large is what I roll with for dinner. The grilled pork bowl (bun thit nuong) is also very solid, but I haven’t tried any other bowls - primarily because I love the sandwiches too much For under $15, you can grab yourself a top-notch banh mi and an avocado boba, which is a steal in my eyes. Highly recommend!

I usually go to the Nicollet location but I was in NE so I stopped here. I'm so glad they were open New Years Day. Mock duck banh mi is my go to, and this was the best one I've had (though I forgot to ask for extra jalapeño). The bread was the freshest I've ever had it- still a bit warm! It was my first time trying the iced coffee and that is probably going to he my go-to drink going forward

I am not vegan but what’s the time I defer to that kind of turning experience. It was super easy to order and get a very savory sandwich. The staff was quick and attentive. Unfortunately the boba drinks are not vegan and the owner let me switch out my drink for some spring rolls. Super easy Top swing by for a quick lunch.

Great sandwich place in Minneapolis. This was my first time visiting this establishment. Ordering is done by using a computer screen located at the counter. There is no conversation with employees at all. I ordered the tofu banh mi and added avocado. It took a while because the place was very busy. Completed orders are placed on a shelf in a bag in the dining room. I have to say I’ve had better banh mi, but I would eat here again with some necessary tweaking. The tofu option is bland so I will remedy that by adding dressing next time. The sandwich is huge and can actually serve as 2 meals. The dining room is small but ample for a 1-hour lunch.

Awesome Banh Mi. A small is big enough for a huge appetite. Just look at the array of veggies adorning the soft yet crusty bread

Lu’s serves up some of the best sandwiches in the city, giving Minnesotans a taste of an authentic Vietnamese Bahn Mi. The pork is tender and richly flavored with ginger and lemongrass. The veggies are crisp and fresh, providing a much needed textural variation to the sandwich. Finally, the bread is pillow soft on the inside but still has a gorgeously crispy exterior. The egg rolls are also tasty with a deep umami flavor inside and a perfectly browned, flaky outside. The service here is very fast, making it an ideal spot for a quick lunch to eat in the restaurant or to take to go.

Sandwiches are great. The bread is great! Virtually the same as the original shop (first time I went here the bread just wasn't right). Glad to see one of my favorite sandwich places in the cities getting it right in Northeast. Seems like they've got a decent happy hour too.

I would agree with other reviewers, this is probably the best Bahn Mi in the Twin Cities! The baguette is perfectly fluffy and soft, and there's the correct amount of each other topping! I will 100% be ordering from here again.

This place is really a hit or miss depending on what you get. Items on the menu are not created equally. If you want to stick with something that will be forsure delicious, go for the cold cut or grilled pork. I also highly recommend the melon smoothie 10/10. Other than that, if you're down to be adventurous you can branch out. But if you're here to get a sandwich that hits, go for the cold cut or grilled pork.
