Recently visited Tavola for the first time and I was overall impressed with the delicious food! I was not expecting much based on the reviews but I was pleasantly surprised.
Nestled inside the Elliot Park Hotel, the ambiance was beautiful with an open concept and beautiful light fixtures. It was moody with dark walls and very modern. I loved it! Pro tip - enter through the Elliot Park Hotel entrance, since the Tavola entrance is locked. I learned that the hard way! ;)
We had a group of about 8 including kids. Everyone loved what they got! For an appetizer, we got the burrata and fries. The burrata was decadent with plenty of buttered focaccia bread slices. The fries were perfectly crispy and the aioli that it came with was divine.
Most of us ordered the Ratolo - consisting of ricotta, spinach, and a sweet & spicy tomato agro dolce sauce. It was so delicious and better than expected. I loved the side salad and dressing as well. Overall a 10/10 meal. I also got the berry lemonade which was amazing! One of our friends ordered the mushroom pappardelle which was equally delicious. I appreciated how there were vegetarian options on the menu.
We were here celebrating a couple friends' birthdays and the server surprised us with slices of a rich chocolate mousse cake. It was melt-in-your-mouth good!
The reason I docked a star is because service was incredibly slow. It took a while for our server to take our orders. Additionally, our kids were starting to get fussy since it was getting late with bringing the checks. The restaurant seemed relatively empty so I wasn't sure if it was a staffing issue or otherwise. However, our waiter was incredibly friendly and the food was amazing so it was overall a great experience!
I ordered rigatoni with veal bolognese and it was great. The meat sauce was flavorful and tender. I wish the portions would be greater, but at this price point I can't complain.
the food here was pretty good! i got the mushroom ravioli. it was a bit too salty and pricy, but it tasted okay.
Fun atmosphere, good food and a great addition to the hotel. We stayed for a night at the Elliot, and after an event at another bar, we came back and had appetizers at Tavola. Food was all good, drinks were good, service was great, it was very dark in the bar, but it fit the atmosphere at the time. I definitely would recommend both the food and the hotel. Wish the bar stayed open a bit later.
My wife and I went last night to celebrate our anniversary and Tavola was exceptional. The staff was friendly and always on top of things. The food was cooked well and the ambience being downtown was great! It was a great way to end a long travel day with an amazing place to dine in.
Nice upscale Italian restaurant in downtown Minneapolis. The menu was limited but varied enough that there is a good selection of foods from pork, steak, chicken, and even vegetarian options. They have a very nice selection of wines, craft drinks, and was pleasantly surprised with the separate menu of mocktails. Ambience is very pleasant and service is good and attentive.
What a great experience through and through. Bart was our server and took great care of us, everything from drink recommendations to serving us our best meal of our trip to Minnesota.
We had the Meatball appetizer followed by the Chicken Piccata and the Salmon.
We highly recommend this Resturant, and we will dine here once more before we head back home. Thanks 🙏🏻

I recently had the opportunity to enjoy a delicious breakfast at this Restaurant, after my trip from Seattle. I must say that this dining experience exceeded my expectations in every way.
I opted to order the Panino con Tocino and I don't regret it at all. The flavors were outstanding, and the presentation was Amazing. Every bite was an explosion of flavor that left me in awe.
However, what really made this experience unforgettable was the exceptional service I received from my server, Ed. From the moment I sat down, his professionalism and friendliness was apparent. He was willing to explain the menu and make recommendations, which helped me make an informed decision. Ed was attentive to every detail, making sure my experience was extraordinary.
In short, my breakfast at this Minnesota restaurant was a real treat. As a Seattle traveler, I am grateful for this Minnesota dining experience and especially the service. This place has definitely become a must on my list of places to eat when I visit Minnesota in the future. Thank you Ed for getting my day off to a great start!
After a Vikings game, the parking ramp was gridlocked and probably would’ve taken over an hour to get out. We decided to walk and find a bite to eat instead, to wait out the traffic. This was closest, and we’re so happy we found it! Great selection of wines by the glass, wonderful and tasty apps; we tried the mussels and polenta - highly recommend! Then we finished with the pollo pizza. Every pizza that came out looked so delicious. Give this place a try for date night!
Outstanding food and service. Came into the restaurant late and they were.very helpful turned my meal around quickly. Simple meatballs and paste, plus a nice side salad. Excellent and fresh. Really nice and well done.
