Modern Times

Modern Times is a classic Minneapolis cafe. I’m obsessed with their fresh food, huge portions, creative dishes, general vibe, and progressive politics. Everyone who works there is always friendly, and I love how anyone can find something they’ll like on the menu - vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free etc. It’s an inclusive and cool space with incredible food. Highly recommend.

There are few places that serve an atmosphere, a casuality, a friendliness, and an attentiveness, with chill staff. The staff truly are genuine and amazing. They serve great food with many options for so many dietary choices. Then you can add on top of that how much attention they pay to their menu and food that comes to you. Modern times is my favorite breakfast spot. When all of the above comes together, it just... no words. When I go there I don't feel obligation, I don't feel expectation, I don't feel like I'm trying to be sold something, I feel free, I feel cozy and safe and genuine. As a person with anxiety and depression and a vegetarian diet this place is the definition of "hits the spot" as far as cafe is our concerned for me for both taste, diet, atmosphere, and people. Their food is incredibly delicious. It comes out just right, their menu evolves, and they support local artists in-house, and use so much local ingredients in products. This place couldn't be a cozier, more delicious, and perfectly atmospheric Cafe. It's mind-boggling and plate lickingly wonderful. Congrats to you and your creations Modern Times 🎉. The food service industry is not an easy one, but you are doing it right 💙.

We were quoted a 30 minute wait, got seated in less than 10 minutes! Every single staff member was so friendly, kind, and unique. The drinks were fantastic, the food was AMAZING! The whole vibe of the place with the colorful animal paintings and the personalities of everyone was fantastic. I will definitely come back if I’m ever in Minneapolis again!

Staff is super awesome, service is good too. My BLT today was great, would definitely order it again. Only thing is some attention to detail, a few things should be updated or replaced. Overall a great place, and the separate (and full) vegan menu is really nice for those who are vegan. I'm not, but appreciate the consideration for different dietary needs.
