Great food, great vibe. I'm so happy this place is in the neighborhood, and it's definitely worth a visit if you don't live nearby. Most recently I had brunch comprised of the most amazing, luxurious eggs I've ever eaten with toast and salad that were simple but perfectly balanced with the eggs. How can eggs, toast and salad be so good? I don't know but holy cow. On the other occasions I've visited I've had small bites or soups, and they've also been fantastic. Staff is friendly and engaging without being imposing. I also recommend this place if you dine alone...you'll feel completely comfortable.

We're new to the area and were looking for a nice place to have a small celebration for my new job. We found Town Talk off of Yelp. We're very happy to have found this little gem of a restaurant. We had no reservations so couldn't get into the dining room but the hostess told us that there's full dining service at the bar so that's what we did. We had fantastic service from the barman. The food was awesome. My wife had cioppino and for me, the hanger steak over risotto. Fantastic, both of them. We will certainly be back!

The brunch was pretty good and the service was attentive. We had the rolled omelette with a side of bacon which was delicious but we didn't realize that the bacon and onions would be on the side, it's only cheese actually in the omelette. We also had the pulled pork Benedict which was good but a little too lemony for my tastes. All I could taste was lemon and no other flavor was strong enough to combat it. The fries were a bit soggy and the pop over was a little disappointing but overall the food was good and you could tell they use quality ingredients. We will be back to try dinner.

There aren't enough good words available to do this establishment justice. My wife and I had the most wonderful experience here with everything from the texture of the cornbread to the timing of service being perfect. The cocktails, and especially the seasonal mixed blood Manhattan were wonderfully prepared. We split the cornbread with pimento cheese which was truly amazing. The chef said the key here is he makes all of the corn bread yo order rather than reheated. We also split the burger and the duck both of which were fantastic. The ducks skin was crisp with a juicy layer of far just beneath which melted away with each bite. This place also has a lovely look and vibe that is just great to spend time in. Can recommend enough!

Delicious food and hands down the best service I had while in town. Not just good service but, genuine care towards the dining experience as a whole. Would definitely return and recommend.

Greeted by the tiny genuine quaintness of the original establishment, I was seated by Charlie and introduced to Sasha, The mixed Manhattan, is very tasty though a bit syrupy for my taste. I started with a wonderful corn and smoked scallops soup. The evening market fish was a high quality Alaskan salmon prepared very nicely and served with lemon herb couscous and a tomato relish. Wow. Overall an interesting space, charming people and an excellent meal.

This was the best bloody Mary I have ever had (you need to like spice). Also, hash was a special dish and bacon is 1/2 an inch thick! Great, great food!

Outstanding. We came in for brunch and absolutely loved it. The Bloody Mary is one of the best in town. I had fried green tomatoes with poached eggs and my partner had the breakfast burger. The popover was good too. I can’t wait to come back for dinner!

Food and service were excellent. My companion and I shared the burrata salad, which was very good. She had the pea soup and I had the pork, we shared the cornbread. Everything was over-the-top good. All I can say is: "Town Talk, where have you been all my life?"

Outstanding meal! Great service! Would come back anytime I'm in town. Farm to table, locally sourced and excellent husband/wife chef team.

The Town Talk Diner is a gem that is often overlooked on a busy Lake Street in Minneapolis. While serving sizes are sparse and the bill a little steep, it should not be dismissed. Each dish is lovingly crafted and positively delicious. Their menu is split into several categories including small plates, large plates, and sides. Everything our party tried from each category was exquisite. Favorites were Gnocchi, Forbidden Rice, and Grilled Asparagus. Cheesecake lovers, make sure you save room for dessert.

Just ate here for the first time and this place is fantastic! I was so impressed I had to give them a 5-star review. Creative dishes, delicious food, and super friendly staff. We enjoyed the whole experience, and it was refreshing to try something dishes you don't find elsewhere. If you like really good food and some options out of the ordinary, then you should check this place out. We're so glad we did! I may add more detail later, but we had some tasty dishes I'd never had before, and every single thing we had was really excellent. They change out a number of their dishes with the season or the availability of fresh ingredients like fish. We sat next to a couple who lives close by and eats here often, and just loves this place. I can totally see why! It's the kind of place you want to make sure sticks around. The mix of incredible food in a great environment with the great staff it's something special....just a great experience in every way.
