Mccormick & Schmick's Seafood & Steaks

Friend wanted some steak while we were downtown. Many places to choose from but I've never been here and it was near by. Parking ramp just a block over so that's super convenient since parking downtown can be a hassle. Atmosphere was nice. We were seated by a large group of at least 8 to 10 people so what we thought was going to be a quiet evening, didnt turn out that way. Everything came out in a timely manner. The roasted assorted veggies were almost a little towards the burnt side but still has good flavor. Same with the steaks. We felt our ribeyes could have used a bit more seasoning.

First time there and it was awesome! The staff was great, very friendly. Our server was really helpful and attentive. I'd never had oysters before and after talking about it, we were brought a couple on the house. Not sure if I'd try them again, lol, but it was definitely that above and beyond service that is lacking in a lot of establishments nowadays.

Last night we celebrated my husband's birthday at McCormick's and Schmick's in Minneapolis. It was a fabulous evening beginning with special menus with a "Happy Birthday" to my husband printed at the top. I started with the Millionaire Coffee which was great. Our server was wonderful. She knew the menu well, and had a great sense of humor. We had a private booth which made it a bit more intimate. We ordered a variety of appetizers ranging from shrimp cocktails to Oysters Rockefeller. All were plated beautifully and were tasty. The main courses met all expectations. I had the Ultimate Mixed Grill. The crab stuffed shrimp and the crab cake were my favorites. We also had the North Atlantic Lobster Tails, Center Cut Filet Mignon, and I think the Palm Beach Mahi Mahi . All were presented beautifully and were nicely seasoned and tasty. The desserts were a perfect way to complete a great dining experience. Because it was my husband's birthday, he was given a free Chocolate Volcano. Again, the presentation was great and it disappeared quickly. The rest of us shared the Chocolate Bag. White chocolate mousse, fresh berries, and whipped cream inside a bag made of chocolate. It was absolutely decadent! We had interesting conversation with more of the staff as we were leaving. We never felt rushed. The whole evening was upbeat and relaxed. My only complaint is that we weren't told what sides came with each main course and it didn't say on the menu. Because of that we ordered extra sides that we wouldn't have needed. Other than that it was the perfect dining experience.
