I've been going weekly now for over a month plus. A new convert to their delicious flavors and varied menu. Consistently great even when the staff is slammed with customers. The Maya sauce is so good subtle burning, I dream about it & cant wait to get back for more. We've never left hungry or disappointed on any level. The tamales are killer. The salsa bar is constantly stocked with fresh fixings. If there is better quick serve Mexican food in the Twin Cities I've yet to find it after searching 27 years here. It's clean and well kept with tables bussed and easy to find parking too. My buddy who lives in Southern California comes back into town and claims this place serves the best, he can't find better even that close to Mexico. I have to agree Maya is as good as we can find. It's affordable, delicious and freshly made. If another star was available I'd make it sparkle and hope you too find this an amazing spot for delicious Mexican cuisine.!!

I'm a Chicano from East LA, the northern capital of Mexico and the home of killer burritos. This place is the closest I've come to a killer East LA burrito and much better than a couple of my favorite hometown places. I will definitely return even if I have to drive 20 minutes from st. Paul instead of walk 5 minutes when I was back in Aztlan. The lengua was excellent.

Bummed I did not get any pictures for you. The food was quite tasty and lots of it. It’s not the best I have had but was delicious. You order your food and then grab a table if dining in. They have a condiment bar for hot sauces, sour cream, salsas, onions, and cilantro to add to your food. Atmosphere I thought was fun. There is a bar way in the back that serves really good margaritas. Bartender was Awesome!!! The only thing I was disappointed on was the parking. You have to find a spot somewhere around the block. That can be a walk. I don’t mind walking but for some that might not be worth it. There is front street parking if available but a very busy street.

We are new to Minneapolis and we were having a driving adventure when we came across this place. It was between this and the sushi place across the street. Our cravings were sushi until we saw this place, suddenly Mexican food sounded so amazing and omg, did not DISAPPOINT. The freshness of this food was excellent, the side options were endless, staff were amazing and quick, prices are affordable AF, did I mention the freshness!?!? Go have your own experience!!! You won't be disappointed! I had the three tacos, with beans and rice (comes with the meal) and ah, so much fooood!

I have ordered from here a few times to work and it has been amazing. The food has been quick, fresh, and delicious. Available through Doordash for sure, which makes it really convenient. Very affordable for how much you get.

Good food, service and enviroment. The only comment is that they have different menús, depending if you order at front of the counter to go or even to eat on the dinner witout table service and the back dinner room where you get full table service. We stop at front and look the options and decide our order but then we decided to go to the back dinning área and the options were not available. We have to choose other options. Kind of strange system.

I looked at a trusted food site for brunch recommendations in the Cities and this was on their list. We have a local Mexican buffet that we really enjoy so we decided to give this a try. I was pretty happy we did. The staff is super friendly and attentive. The mexican food is awesome and leans closer to authentic than our local buffet. I wish they had horchata on the buffet, but they do not. They do offer orange drink, water, coffe decaf/regular, and a bin of soda cans. The breakfast options weren't our favorite, but is that really why someone would go to this brunch? The soup, taco/nacho bar is amazing. Do not miss out on the churros. They were a delicious end to the meal and experience. Highly recommend for great mexican food!

Friendly staff. Generous portions of good food. Nice salsa bar with creative options I haven’t seen elsewhere. I got the Maya Plate ($11) for lunch. I configured it with a carnitas taco, a chicken taco, and a pork tamale. It came with Mexican rice and a choice of refried or black beans (I went with refried today). Order and pay at the counter, stop by the salsa bar before grabbing a table in their welcoming space. Lots of table options without being crowded. Plasticware and napkins available at the salsa bar. Everything was good. If you’re hungry, this is a great option in the neighborhood as portions are generous. Free parking on the street. It proved to be a popular lunch venue. I think I’ll try the taco salad next time.

We went when it wasn't that crowded (around 3) and the enchiladas, pozole and happy hour nachos cost $ 36 (more than enough for 2+ people). We enjoyed the vibe and food.

My friend took me here and it was amazing. We went for the Sunday buffet (10:00-2:00). Everything was really good and they have a nice selection of food. I couldn't stop eating the tamales and the flan! Staff was friendly and were very good about keeping up with refilling the buffet. Definitely recommend going!!

Call it 4.6 overall, based on one visit. Maya has two areas, the front along Central is the street-food area, and the back area is for sit-down dining and the bar (photos), all the same kitchen - and patio is in the far back. The bar would be a good place to watch The World Cup, I imagine; if one were to watch The World Cup. The tomales were among the best I have had in Minnesota. Patio dining looks nice but it was in the 40's when we visited. All food items were good, definitely not spicy or over-spiced (if anything more the opposite) as this feels classic traditional Mexican. They do a nice job with service and creating as good an atmosphere too. No worries about being too hot/spicy. Definitely recommend.
