I was visiting my daughter last weekend and she took me there for wine and tapas. Each dish was amazing and we had four: Mac and cheese, asparagus, chicken wings, and sugar charred steak. I recommend all of them. Our server was top notch! Overall, a wonderful experience and I will definitely be back when I visit again!

My friend and I were having a girls weekend and it was recommended to check out Balzac. We loved it! Great atmosphere, drinks and the food was amazing. The duck nachos and signature sac mac were our favorites and the salted caramel pot de creme was a perfect way to end the night. Definitely would recommend this restaurant!

First time visiting and had a fantastic experience! Extensive wine list, delicious dishes, cozy atmosphere, and great service. The "small plates" were larger than expected. A friend and I shared two small plates plus dessert and we were full. The brussel sprouts were fantastic, and the sauce with the pan seared snapper was so flavorful. The desserts also did not disappoint. The chocolate torte and the seasonal pumpkin cheesecake were both delicious. I will definitely be back for the wine and the food. 5 stars!

I love this place, The ambiance is so Romantic, it makes me feel like I’m in the 1800s. The whole interior design is beautiful and very artistic. The music matches with the whole atmosphere. The service is very nice and friendly, the people who works there have no problem with engaging in conversation with the diners which makes the whole dining experience even better… Specially if you sit at the Bar. 🍷 They have a good selection of wines. The Bao Buns are incredible. 💥Explosion of flavors right there. Charcuterie Boards are delicious too. Every time I go there I left satisfied and the desire to come back. Keep up the good work.

Dined on a Sunday night at Balzac after recommendations from a couple of friends. The menu is constructed around shareable small plates, though there are some bigger entrees. There is plenty of wine to choose from though we didn't order any. We were seated quickly. It looked like there were only two servers for the dining room so I won't hold service against them on this visit. For as many tables as the servers worked, they stopped by plenty of times and were very pleasant. Depending where you sit, tables can be a bit too small and cluttered for sharing small plates. We did our best to share a couple of plates and also ordered cheeseburgers. We shared Peach Caprese and Sac Mac. Peach Caprese took full advantage of Peach season and kept this side simple and clean. I was a fan. The Sac Mac was well sauced and well balanced. Another win. The burger was delicious and straightforward; not an overwhelming amount of toppings. The french fries tasted exactly like McDonald's fries. Unsure if this is intentional. I would've preferred a thicker, twice fried french fry but their fries were not bad whatsoever. Overall, the prices at Balzac are reasonable and the portions fall in line with those prices. The food is prepared simply; they allow seasonal ingredients to shine. Execution was fine. I wasn't blown away by anything I ate, but nothing I had was bad. Balzac strikes me as a simple, reasonable and consistent local restaurant. I left satisfied and my wallet was happy with me. All wins in my book!

Balzac has a very pleasant atmosphere. The servers are friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. The ambience inside is cozy and intimate. On the patio, it is bright and airy. Their food is delicious and there is a good variety of dishes inspired by many cultures. I've tried several dishes in the couple times I've been here and they've all been delicious!

From the moment we entered, I loved the vibe of Balzac. The interior space was dimly lit and intimate while the outdoor patio was a perfect place to chat with friends on a late summer evening. The music was a perfect blend of hip hop and R&B. Wait staff were super friendly and helpful in selecting different items off the menu. We ordered a bottle of red wine to share between the table. Pro tips - all wine bottles are half off on Wednesdays! Also, if you ever really like the bottle you had in the restaurant, you can purchase it for the road at half off the listed price on the menu. The wine selection was extensive, so I look forward to coming back and trying a new bottle. The food, truthfully, was hit or miss. Most of the dishes are small plates so I'd recommend about 3-4 dishes to share between 2 people. I really enjoyed the sisig - it honestly was better than a lot of the sisig I've tried even at Filipino restaurants. The pork pappardelle had great textures but needed way more flavor. The carrots and parsnips were a huge letdown - the parsnips especially were far too fibrous, and the flavors of the honey and salsa did not come through at all. We split the chocolate mousse for dessert, which I overall enjoyed - it wasn't too rich and was beautifully presented. Overall, I had a great time and will definitely return on a Wednesday night to take advantage of the incredible wine deal, but might stick to just drinks next time.

This is one of our FAVORITE Milwaukee restaurants! The food selections are always 100/10 and they have many gf + df options which I always appreciate. Every dish is so good but the Brussels, pie, and of course wine is the best! We have had Hannah twice as our server and she is the best!

Everything is on dot and fresh that I just can't say it in words! I like the cocktail with beetroot juice very much. Very innovative drink. Well food is great too! Esp chicken liver mousse waffle is also highly recommended! Fantabulous dessert- chocolate brownie. The best I had in Wisconsin! The perfect balance of the salt and chocolate (good quality) and the plating is just marvellous. MUST TRY DISH Except the tortilla chips which Needed some more meat or dressing in top the experience was great

If I could leave 6 stars for the service I would. The lady that gave us the wine recommendation was stellar. And Kyle was so nice and even let us put in a dessert right at 10 pm! I love when kitchens stay open to help their guests that are already here!! Will be back again!

Loved this quaint find in Milwaukee. A little older crowd than the bars nearby. By older 28-39yr old than the college louder dinner locations. Wonderful wine selection and craft cocktails. Had the Dirty martini! And red sangria, loved both. Order pork belly bao buns, they do need a sprig of cilantro or cucumber to lighten them up with the kimchi. The picked vegetables and hummus were great. Also had the vegan chicken nuggets, so unique and tasty. Had salted Carmel dessert, lovely pudding custard! Loved the atmosphere outback on patio, and the inside is so beautiful with dim lit lights and darker furnishings. A must for a glass of wine or/and small shareable tapas.
