Atmosphere is so cozy and fun, lots of details all over. Food was delicious. We got the Oktoberfest brat & baked cod, with appetizers cheese curds and pretzel. Best fried cheese curds I've ever had.

Wisconsin fish fry at its finest! Spent a great night here while home for Thanksgiving break. We all had fish fry including the cod, walleye and blue gill, all excellent and some of the best potato pancakes ever. Great beers and wine too!

Great atmosphere especially to live music! Apps both truffle fries and Hugh Jass pretzel were amazing! Love the curry ketchup! Spaetzel Mac and cheese was great along with the Nashville chicken sandwich. Wisco disco burger was good but has to be cooked well done which I’m not a fan of, give me the raw meat disclaimer and let’s roll! Nitro Olde Fashioned was solid. We will be back!

The restaurant itself had the old world feel we were looking for. Clean, efficient layout (tables not too close), and the decor was wonderful. It afforded a great mix of people enjoying the evening. The service was spot on and timing of courses were handled very well, we did not feel rushed and all food was served hot. Food was very tasty but on the higher end of expected price points. The Schnitzel entrees for example were prepared in a common manner with separately delivered sauces based on your order in small creamer containers. Vegetables and sides were well portioned with leftovers coming home. Good variety of beers (.5L and 1L size offerings) and wines. Overall recommended for a nice evening out with good food and atmosphere for families and couples.

The food was excellent. My only complaint is that the online menu didn't line up at all with what was going on at the restaurant. This also includes the hours for the business. However, the server was so polite and nice about letting us just enjoy our meal and our conversation. We didn't realize we were there an hour after they closed. Overall great environment. Great food. Great people! Very happy.

Friday fish fries at Kegel’s Inn are a Milwaukee institution! Make reservations or be prepared to wait an hour + for a table. I had the perch which was sweet and delicious, potato pancakes, a great dark German beer on tap and shared a fried cheese curds starter with my date who enjoyed the bluegill. Our table was ready and waiting at the reserved time. The place was packed so you might want to be fully covid vaxxed…to each their own there….but it was mega crowded. The atmosphere is jubilant and raucous. Food came swiftly and was awesome. Service excellent.

One of the best German restaurants I've ever eaten at. They have fantastic seating outside in the Biergarten. Jessica was one of the most pleasant servers I've seen in years 👏 Great job 👍

Nice German restaurant. I ate close to closing. They bring out lots of food...ordered the wienerschnitzel with gravy ($33). It came with a side of broccoli, side salad, soup, rolls. Also ordered a side of spaetzel ($?) and a small pretzel ($8) which was rather large. The schnitzel was overcooked and the pretzel was on the Buttery side rather than traditional. Good cheese spread. I thought they should offer a smaller portion without all the sides, just a single schnitzel was fine.

A West Allis fish fry institution where we got to eat in a yurt! This was one of the best dining experiences I’ve ever had. I snuck into town to surprise some friends. We had a reservation for a yurt at Kegel’s that would fit all 12 of us. The yurts were impressive and comfortable inside. Hunter was incredibly friendly and served us quickly and effectively. To celebrate being back in Wisconsin I excitedly ordered an old fashioned and it was delightful. As friends arrived and we began filling in the yurt, the temperature got more comfortable and we got more cozy. Hunter suggested the appetizer platter and that ended up being a perfect amount of food for us before diving into our fish frys. I had the walleye with potato pancakes and oh my was it all tasty. The batter was on the lighter side, which I consider the righter side. The potato pancakes warmed my Jewish soul and I could have eaten a lot of the coleslaw. I have missed my German style beers and I was excited to enjoy a half liter of Hacker-Pschorr. The experience at Kegel’s was incredible and the perfect place to bring everyone together.

Old fashioned German restaurant with appetizing food. Crowded with locals coming for fan favorites and liter steins. Fish fry was delicious, the cod was small but hit the spot with the potato pancakes. If you enjoy tons of coconut try their German chocolate cake, I avoided it since I’m not a coconut fan. The acoustics could use some work, you can’t hear yourself think or hold a conversation without shouting over the next person.
