We went for taco Tuesday and did it deliver! We got the 5 taco special — delicious! I loved that it was a “create your own adventure”. We got to pick what types of tacos we wanted. Everything was fresh and tasty. One thing is that we ended up leaving before the live music because someone was smoking in the outdoor patio area. Wish this was a completely non-smoking establishment. Overall loved it, highly recommend!

When we planned our short trip to the North Shore (5 days is NOT enough when you are flying in from the Mainland) we made a list of about 30 restaurants/food trucks we wanted to hit and this was in the top 3. It did not disappoint. Located in beautiful Haleiwa, it is in a little food truck village on the outskirts of town that offered several other fantastic food options as well. My wife and I came for one reason and one reason only... the crunchy flour taco's. Living in AZ we know a few things about good taco's and wanted to see if Surf N Salsa would measure up. It easily did. The taco's are huge so my wife and I ordered one 2 taco plate and one on the side. It was more than filling. We also ordered the chips and guac and some extra salsa on the side. The salsa is a little spicy (which I prefer) but it may be too spice for others. My 10 year old ordered the Surf Break Burrito that had Chorizo in it. It was too spicy for her but my wife and I thought it was delicious. The star of the show were the tacos and they were fantastic. Truly delicious. Our daughter ordered the bean and cheese burrito which she also enjoyed. Parking can be tight during peak hours so you may want to get there right when they open. There is plenty of available seating as well. This will definitely be part of our North Shore adventure in the future.

Great place on the side of the road! I got the shrimp soft taco which I really enjoyed but the filling felt skimped on for $6. A little rice or salsa would have made it better. Shrimp was incredible though amazing flavors and loved the fresh shells. Everyone in my party enjoyed their tacos.

Amazing Mexican place for vegetarians. Great options in veg, really tasty food. The tacos base seems freshly made not just purchased from supermarket. The filling is great too. The ambience of the place is very nice especially at night to chill and eat with friends. Must try, tacos and burritos.

This place stands out above the rest. I arrived at 1045am while they were still setting up. Before they opened at 11am there was a line. Cashier impressed me. Among all the customers at the busy food truck she remembered our conversation and brought me extra salsas to try and repackaged everything. On to the food, tacos, burritos, plates, real Mexican sodas in the glass bottles and fresh traditional drinks. The chips were fresh and hot, served in a paper bag to go with a green salsa I chose. The taco fell apart because I held the box on its side. This is my favorite taco shell now. You can taste each ingredient in a way your Mexican grandmother might cook. Everything was simple and delicious. Be prepared to wait. This was not a quick stop. I waited a minimum of 10 minutes after I ordered. Everyone waiting seemed happy and were chatting.

Best Mexican food I've had in the US in my 6+ years here! We had fresh chips with salsa and guac and chicken tacos (1 crispy taco and 1 regular). The person taking the order somehow seemed not so happy doing what she was doing. Also, she seemed confused by simple questions and statements like "less lettuce please" 🤷 The food however was absolutely delicious. I would give 6 stars if I could. Everything tasted fresh and flavorful. The ambiance of their backyard seating was good as well. Highly recommend.

This is a perfect place to stop for lunch when visiting the north shore. I live in Phoenix and these tacos rival anything we have locally.

THE BEST THING WE ATE IN HALE’IWA. 100% recommend. We had the carne asada fries, and crunchy tacos (pork, carne asada and shrimp). It was all so good and fresh.
