We dined on Sat., Dec. 23, 2023. Initially, there was a mix up on our reservations, but staff quickly remedied the problem. It's an authentic rustic building & atmosphere of early Hispanic culture. Very good variety & tasty Mexican food. Large cages near entrance with large, beautiful & colorful parrots. Very popular so get there early & be patient.

Great meal. Did not have to wait long to get a table. I like the separate rooms. There was a mariachi band, but not in our room, and so I enjoyed hearing in the distance. I had a Combination Plate #1 which was quite generous. Every one of the items was tasty and fresh. The cabbage was crisp and had a flavor that I could not recognize but found very engaging. Very reasonably priced. Don't hesitate to attend a meal. Oh, the parrots can be loudly squawky.

A very relaxed atmosphere, food was ok. Too cheesy, salsa was good though. Service is good, wait time is decent. Loved dessert. The empanada with a side of ice cream. Delicious!

Hands down the best restaurant in the state. Fast service, the margaritas and fajitas are simply divine and the patio is cozy and makes you feel like you're in a hidden grotto sipping tequila in Mexico. If you love mezcal or tequila this is a must. My server Mary was charming, attentive and kind especially to me dining alone with my service dog. A real gem in New Mexico, if I could door dash them to Albuquerque I would!!! I look forward to my once or twice a year visit when I'm in Las Cruces!

Food was solid but not exciting (I had the chicken and steak fajitas). Salsa was good but spicier than I'm used to at other places. Animals in the lobby were interesting. Waitress was very busy but doing a great job nonetheless.

I was fortunate to have visited this Historic authentic Mexican restaurant in Las Cruces Mesilla Valley on The Mexican Independence Day celebration 🍾 on September 16 2023. A client had asked me to join her and daughter. Super busy and the restaurant handled the rush with ease. Very friendly staff. Everybody looked content as they finished their meal and drinks.

We we're in town getting our car tuned up and the shuttle driver from the dealership recommend La Posta and she nailed it.
All I can say is to just eat here. Everything was awesome including Nate our server. We will be back.

Overall great experience to include a friendly staff and terrific ambiance. Recipe for tacos was slightly different than in the past, still delicious.
