Mendocino Cafe

We were here on a weekend and though there was a line to get seated, it didn’t take that long to consider walking away. Once we were seated outside on a partial shade on a sunny day, we were soon served with water without asking. But that was it, we might have been forgotten because no one checked on us or given menus. So we kept on shifting our chairs away from the sun until we asked to get seated indoors. It took about 2 hours to get served with our orders since we were initially seated outside. I had the crab cake meal which was good that it made me forget for awhile how long we have waited. By the time we asked for our bill, our server forget to even include a pen so make sure you have a pen with you. Overall it was a bittersweet experience.

This is a very pleasant place to have dessert and drinks with your dog. The outdoor patio has several comfortable tables. Our dog was comfortable with his soft ground seating. My husband loved his cheesecake. I enjoyed my berry and peach cobbler, but was disappointed with the small dab of whip cream and no ice cream on top. I was told they just ran out and were making more. I explained to him that I often have dessert just to get the whipped cream on top. Yet, he never returned with the promised whipped cream. I would still return here as the seeing was so pleasant.

My husband and I had a wonderful dinner at Mendocino Cafe recently on July 4th. We were greeted right away and assured that we would be seated shortly outside, which was our choice. We loved the outside tent/garden area, however, the inside looks inviting as well. Our waitress was very friendly and helpful. We ordered the Vietnamese Salad with Grilled Prawns and the Thai Burrito and shared them both. The food was delicious!! We also enjoyed one of our favorite Craft Beers on Tap. We both highly recommend this restaurant.

We arrived in Mendocino on July 3. It was very busy because they had a parade and some kind of fair. What restaurants were open were packed. We saw the Mendocino Cafe and thought we would give it a try. There was a pretty good sized line when we arrived. Surprisingly, we were seated in about 10 minutes. It took a little while to get our food, but as busy as they were, it was understandable. The staff was doing the best they could. We ordered a cheesesteak, steak and brie sandwich, and salsa Verde burrito The food was incredible! One of the best cheesesteak I have ever had! We sat outside because that's where there was room and it was a little bit chilly. I am not sure if that is typical, but if you go you may want to bring a jacket. I highly recommend this restaurant!
