Always a great meal at the Trillium Cafe. Good service, great management, not a complexed menu but creative and very well executed. Anyone that can make great fries knows how to run a great kitchen. It has become our go to spot for our first lunch stop when we get into town after a long drive. We have pretty much tried everything on the menu and have never been disappointed.
Fabulous from beginning to end. Love that they offer a half bottle of Goldeneye Pinot noir! Really hard choices to make as far as food - it all is so wonderful. We started with the kale Caesar - delish - and I got the fish of the day (swordfish) and my husband got the short ribs. Both were fantastic. We traded mid meal because I had to try. Does anyone else do that? Anyway - finished with the Meyer lemon tart. To die for! Highly recommend.
This is a review of the restaurant. My wife and I stopped by for lunch and were completely blown away by the quality of the food, wine, service, and ambiance.
We thoroughly enjoyed the whole meal, but the onion tart stole the show. Hands down one of the most delicious and creative dishes I’ve ever tasted. So good we almost ordered a second one to go.
Such a quaint spot! We called last minute for a table for 6, and at first they said they could not seat us, and then gave us a call back - it was fate for a delicious meal! The black cod, local mushrooms and desserts were big highlights. Also our lovely waitress bringing over blankets (since we were outside) and great suggestions. Will definitely visit here again when we are back in Mendocino❣️.
We dined at Trillium and very much enjoyed our dishes - the fish special and the steak. Service was low key but prompt and the food was well-prepared. The restaurant itself is lovely with great outdoor seating. My son left a small bag with books behind and the cafe was closed when we tried to retrieve it the next day. The owner very graciously drive to the cafe and retrieved the books - thank you!
Went here for dinner and had to lovely experience! The outdoor seating under a giant tent was comfortable and relaxing. Food was well prepared and delicious. Service was attentive friendly. No bar, beer and wine only. We've been there many times and always enjoy the food and atmosphere. Some outdoor seating has views of the ocean, very pretty.
A happy little accident.
Initially, the wife and I were slated to eat elsewhere. However, the other restaurant didn't inform us that reservations were required (even though I called in to check on volume), not wanting to waste a trip, and we stumbled upon this warm little café! The food was delicious & the service...impeccable. Definitely recommend the scallops 💯
Came here for my birthday dinner and everything about it was 10/10. Food, service, ambiance. Servers were so friendly and attentive, and location is great! Highly recommend Trillium for dinner
They get everything right in the restaurant. Great service, fantastic and creative food that is kept hot right to your table. And the table is under the tent in the very pleasant garden, with excellent heaters. Need a place for a special dinner? Look no further.
We ate lunch in their beautiful tent and I had the best vegetable gnocchi I have ever had! Beet gnocchi with tons of different vegs and a lemon pesto. So light yet delicious. Beautiful too!
We had lunch here. The fish tacos were delicious…fresh greens, great seasoning, and everything else at the table looked awesome as well. Excellent experience and would want to come back.
Dinner was really amazing. Service was amazing! We were not disappointed with a thing.
The complementary bread is rosemary with sea salt butter and no better way to start a meal. The seafood is so fresh and everything is so tasty.
