I stumbled across this gem in my travels and if you are looking for fresh, moist, full sized tamales…look no more. They were magnificent. I also picked up some of the highly sought after Verde Street sauce & it did not disappoint. Two kinds of white corn tortillas, choose the ones you like. Everyone was friendly and oh so kind. A bit of a language barrier but I speak Spanglish, so all is well. If you are looking for authentic Mexican cooking essentials…you have struck gold. I highly recommend.
Best Tamales in Memphis. IMO
This is one of those hidden treasures you just stumble upon. They are stashed away in the back of a great but cluttered Mexican store.
Pros: Authentic food, Awesome Tamales
Cons: No seating, limited menu, staff speaks limited English, menu in Spanish
Couldn't get a good picture because of of lightning and space.
Store is located on Whitten Road. Sells convenience items including Hispanic and African food items. Store appears clean. Staff is bilingual...Spanish and English. Prices are competitive. No one greets you upon entry or at checkout.
So excited we found this place. Reminds me so much of the dessert and snacks we would get in California. So delicious and the people there make you feel welcome.
Great food and good value. Preferred that you speak Spanish or you may have a hard time ordering.

Little grocery store with a hot food restaurant in the back (think street tacos). Great place to practice Spanish, if you can. The staff is extremely nice.
Got some pupusas and some tamales! Good stuff, the tamales were a little dry but still tasty!
