The people are so friendly. My sandwich was so good!! I couldn’t finish the whole thing, had to split it! Will definitely be going back for another. The ice cream sizes are huge too!! Definitely will be going back!
You just cant beat the value and the friendly service and the great ice cream. I run the Boy Scout camp down the road and some time show up in the evening with 30 staff members at once. They are always super friendly and helpful and the workers never complain about all the work we are putting them through.

I am so glad that I took the advice of another reviewer and got the ice cream flight! At $6 for 4 flavors, you truly get your money's worth (and then some). I couldn't have even chosen a favorite flavor because all 4 were both interesting and delicious. Skip dinner and just indulge here!
Went here while on vacation in the area and I was not disappointed. Friendly staff and quick service. Lots of delicious flavors to choose and including some fun ones.
I had the 'baby' cone ($3.78) and that thing was massive so I can only imagine what larger sizes looked like, but this was perfect for me. I had the Moose Tracks and Brownie Batter and they were both amazing!

Good ice cream but they lie on there menu small 1 scoop,medium 2 scoops, and large 3 scoops and that is a lie. The small is the size of 3 scoops the medium is 6 scoops and a large is as big as a football
Awesome ice cream. Great service! Sometimes there's a line but it's totally worth it for the large portions and great experience.
Ice cream is delicious, portions are generous, staff are friendly and can usually handle a long line fairly quickly.

On our tour of ice cream places in Western PA, Eastern OH and SW NY, we happen to stumble upon Boxcar Barney's.
Really nice location, you can sit in the Adirondack chairs or lounge at the picnic tables to enjoy the view (remotely) of the lake. Very pretty setting and perfect for a sunny summer day and ice cream.
We always comment on how some places have "grainy" soft serve or varying degrees of creamy. Here, we totally enjoyed the creaminess of the soft serve. A bit of a surprise for two small cones coming in at ten bucks but then again, the portions were generous and the location made up for the rest. Cones without a paper sleeve, which was odd, seeing we live in the age of Covid. Regardless, nice place, nice staff and a good old fashioned treat on a day made for it. Oh ... and the only place we have seen so far with PASTEL sprinkles. Not a huge thing but enough to set it apart from all the other standard color sprinkles. FUN!
The portions are massive for the price. I ordered a baby size ice cream cone and it was gigantic! I think all of there ice cream is homemade as well, which is a nice change from all the chain ice cream places that all carry Perry's. Brownie batter and orange creamsicle were our choices and they were so good. It was a nice treat on a hot summer day.
