Stopped at the Lazy Day Marathon last night based upon my best friends recommendation. We had our kids with us too. My friend ordered the lazy day hog fish (which was not on the menu). It is hog fish lightly friend in Panko, topped with diced tomatoes, chives, Parmesan and special key lime butter sauce. We also ordered the Caesar salad as our side. It was seriously the best fish and best Caesar salad I've had! My kids loved their food too and they are picky eaters. This will be my "must go" every time I visit the keys from here on out. The staff was friendly and the service was quick and great! Highly recommend.
Loved this restaurant. Save it for the last night, because this is the one restaurant, amongst all the awesome others, that shines in the light (and the night). Food is a bit on the expensive side (and I am THE frugal dude) but SOOOOO worth it. Literally the best dinner we had on this vacation, so we definitely will be back. Ask for Amanda to serve you because she was awesome and very attentive. Started out with the escargot, french onion soup and then moved on to the jalapeno encrusted chicken and yellow snapper. So delicious with their key lime butter. ALL. TO. DIE. FOR!!! And, to top that off, a heck of a view off the patio.
I don’t understand some of the reviews. I’m not a local; I’m from the Midwest. I found this restaurant to be affordable and delightful!
I’m vegan and they had options for me. My husband enjoyed the yellow fish and shrimp. Much more affordable compared to our resort restaurant.
I enjoyed the service and a nice evening with great food!
It was the only place we visited twice on vacation. The fish was delicious prepared in Islamorada and Lazy Days styles. My absolute favorite was the Jalepeno encrusted, tho. Sit outside and watch the gorgeous sunset.
Went there for breakfast and was simply astounded by the service we received from Patrick our waiter that went well above any standard service especially for breakfast (ask for him when you go). He was informative and honest about the menu items and perfectly directive on suggestions. This was the first time anyone from my grouo had been here and i must say everyones food was all top notch. The ingredients all tasted fresh and the plates were arranged cleanly. I would highly recommend based on service alone but the food was amazing! Cant wait to see what the dinner menu had to offer.
Great spot for water views, great drinks, and great food! We went for the sunset, which was beautiful but slightly blocked by the condos close by. We sat outside with the fans on in May and it was comfortable, not too hot. The oysters Rockefeller were ok, they had a cream sauce that took over the entire plate. The scallops were sauteed in a butter garlic sauce and cooked to perfection! The stone crab claws were out of season so they were previously frozen, but nice to have them as an option. The lobster was cooked perfectly, the calamari was just right and paired with a thick marinara sauce. Definitely a great spot to try if in the Marathon area!
Great for lunch and dinner … waterside dining which we preferred. There is also indoor dining. We had Seafood bisque, Crab Dip, Billings Salad, Coconut Shrimp and Grilled-Jerked Mahi Mahi! It was all delicious! I had the Jerk Mahi Mahi - grilled to perfection with just the right amount of heat! The crab dip had a golden brown crust on the top… it was great but I didn’t like the texture of the artichoke in there. Topped it off with Pina Coladas. Will try more next time we pass through the keys. Service was excellent and our views were spectacular!
Definitely stop by Lazy Days. You won't be disappointed. Our server, Ella, made us feel like we were locals. The food was delicious and they had seating inside and outside. Their lobster bisque in a brwad bowl was out-of-this-world and so was the seafood lasagna and shrimp linguine.
Absolute. BEST place for cook your catch!! We do it 3 ways- Lazy Days Style, garlic and jalapeño. It is PERFECTION!!
Service great, love the atmosphere and good drinks too!!
One of my faves as a local!!!
Food was good. Service was slow but he was the only waiter so he did the best he could. He was friendly but they were understaffed.
After fishing in the morning, our charter recommended Lazy Days to cook our catch. We brought a few pounds of a variety of filets to be grilled and they did a terrific job! The salads and dinner rolls were some of the best we'd been served since being on vacation, too! The sunset was perfect and we had a front row seat. 🌅 I definitely recommend this place for a fresh catch or for taking in a sunset!
I hosted my son’s wedding rehearsal dinner here for 75 people and we couldn’t have been more pleased! The food was delicious, their service was quick and efficient and the entire staff was so helpful. I had my own decorations for the tables to set up and cake to store beforehand. The manager and owner were so accommodating and made sure our area was private. To serve 75 people in a timely manner and have so many guests compliment the food, this is hands down the best restaurant in Marathon! Thank you Bernardo and Eduardo!
