Village Bar

Great hamburger simple and quick. Walked in on a Saturday afternoon with only one high top table left. Sat down with my family, walked up to the bar ordered our drinks. Busier than heck in there and only two people working a man and woman. The woman took my drink and food order and got the drinks asap. Was only a matter of minutes before our cheeseburgers and fries were done. I think it would’ve taken us longer to get through a fast food drive thru. Great burger and fries! Will be back again and again and again! A true Wisconsin bar! What a gem for Madison!

New info for me - this place is a secret Madison staple. No lies, Mr. Jerry Seinfeld, according to the locals, makes a stop here when in town. Ask your local bartender for the dets. Side note, my wife, and the winter wether, crashed her car across the street in the adjacent green - see pic. Other side note - what bar has a view like this?!

Heard the burgers were great and they did not disappoint! Delicious! If you’re looking for a fancy burger this isn’t your place. But if you’re looking for a simple classic delicious cheeseburger (mine had brick cheese), this is it. Cash only. Served on paper plates. Cozy corner Sconnie bar full of nostalgia. Clean and great quick service. We went with our 3 kids (8 and under) and totally kid friendly. Will definitely go again!

Sat at bar for 20 minutes without even being acknowledged. New customers came in, sat down beside us and were waited on right away. Not a one of the men working behind the bar acknowledged we were there. Food is great but service, not so much. Granted, they were busy but, to not even at least give a shout out and say, "I'll be with you as soon as I can." We'll go back, just left a bad first impression. Hopefully they work their system out soon.
