Today I consider myself the luckiest man in Madison, NJ!
Today was the Grand Opening of The Bottle Hill Tavern! It opened at 11am and I soon entered at 11:05am. Two guys were separate sides of the bar with computers and a coke.
I ordered the 1st official beer, a pint of Brotherton IPA. It was thirst quenching after being in the humidity all morning.
In addition I had the first meal! I ordered boneless buffalo wings, a Bottle Hill Burger with American cheese & Applewood Bacon with a side of fries.
The boneless chicken wings (4) were moist and full of flavor! The Bottle Hill Burger was cooked to perfection (10oz of fresh ground angus) and the fries were piping hot and crisp!
I did enjoy my time today and plan on taking my wife back tonight for dinner!
Staff were polite and courteous!
I wish you the best of luck and am sure it will be a huge success!
Great place to relax, have a beer and some great food. Marty Horn knows how to get it done. He sprinkled the menu with some old Pals Cabin Favorites. Mushroom Soup and Redwood (Reuben) were fantastic. Place reminds me of Pals and another West Orange restaurant I worked in .....an "Upscale Gaffers Pub". Best of luck and success to you Marty.
We called ahead to reserve a table of 10 with a person with a wheel chair. The table was very narrow and seating was very close, but we managed to sqeeze in. I enjoyed the deviled egg appetizer that was sprinkled with bacon bits. The popcorn shrimp was not the small sized ones that were expected. Only 4 large shrimp came to an order so we had to order 2. The fried okra and potato skins were enjoyed too. Our guests loved their burgers, pulled pork, chipped beef and salmon salad. I am sorry to say that I was disappointed in my dry herb chicken breast and overly charred grilled vegetables. Service was excellent. The place was very busy on a Wednesday night. It is bright and tight (with spacing of tables). There is no dedicated lot, so you have to find parking on the nearby streets.
Gorgeous day to have a quick lunch here at Bottle Hill Tavern in Madison. I love Madison for its city feel, nice restaurants, train station and shopping!
Loved my poke bowl salad! Service was great. Our attendant was friendly and happy 😊
I’ll come back for more …
A reasonably priced Restaurant with big portions. Great atmosphere, indoors and out.Variety of liquor and beers options to choose from. Menu is not too big, with a lot of good selections even for vegetarians. The service was fast. staff was really attentive and welcoming. We ordered house hummus which comes with pita and veggies (delicious). Also deviled eggs which had a kick from jalapeño it’s was super delicious . Will return again to try the entrees.
This is a great spot in Madison. Definitely recommend trying it out. There are a few downsides: 1. They don't take reservations and they are very busy. You usually have to wait for a table. 2. The inside is pretty small especially in the bar area 3. The noise level is quite high and makes it difficult to have a normal conversation with the people sitting at your table.
The food and drinks are great, and the pricing is reasonable.
We were passing through Madison decided to give this place a try . First let me start by saying the prices are great!! The Cuban sandwich was awesome , Brussel sprouts awesome and fries awesome! The atmosphere was great , I can’t wait to come back to this place. I wish I found out about it sooner . Keep doing what your doing !
Some of the best food I’ve had at a tavern! Definitely order the crabby waffle fries because the white cheddar sauce that comes with it is so addicting. The chicken caesar wrap was also so delicious, crunchy and just the perfect amount of dressing. 5/5 would
totally recommend.
Amazing food and drinks at a reasonable price 👌 Cant tell in the picture, but they even drew a shamrock on my Guinness
Food 4/5.
Service extraordinary 5+/5, thank you Annmarie!
Family friendly.
Clean.
Overall definitely worth a try. One thing I appreciate is the food was not overly salted. Thank you. Too many gastropubs rely on heavy salting to flavor their dishes.
Fig sour cocktail was very good.
Old fashioned was ordinary. I knew I wasn't going to love it as soon as I saw they did not use a large whiskey ice ball or cube. Would not recommend.
Power salad w blackened mahi mahi was very good.
Beet salad with house dill dressing was excellent.
Hamburger was cooked exactly as requested. Although flavor was bland and outside of beef was not hot.
Homemade humus appetizer was excellent as well as the wings.
Bottle Hill Tavern is a great restaurant in Madison! The service was amazing. Our server, Ann Marie, was so sweet and attentive! I was also really impressed that one of the restaurant managers brought me a chair with a back for their high top table because I have a bad back. The food was incredible. The blackened salmon added to the Power Bowl was one of the best salads I've had from a tavern style restaurant.
We have been coming here now for over two years for holiday meals (ps- they have these meals every day!)… we tried somewhere else today for Thanksgiving and the food was so bad we ended up not eating it and coming back here! We were happy they could still help us at 2 PM on Thanksgiving. The turkey dinner here is delicious, tender and the gravy is tasty. The stuffing and mashed potatoes are also very tasty but the banana pudding is the best thing they have on the entire menu! We will stick with you now from now on on holidays.
