Chef Gaccione has done a very nice job opening an upscale New American restaurant in Madison. My fiancee and I came here for brunch last weekend. We arrived shortly after they opened and were amongst the first to arrive for the day. They've done a fantastic job rennovating the restaurant -- it is very open, but still intimate.
The food is very tasty, albeit a bit pricey -- especially for brunch. I had chicken & waffles, she had a salad and soup. All of the main courses were delicious! I have always loved chicken and waffles, and these guys definitely do it right! The chicken is crispy, a tad spicy, but also sweet. The waffle is sweet potato and is more savory. For dessert, we had the pineapple cake...which left a bit to be desired. Especially since it was $10.
We've eaten at Chef Gaccione's other restaurant in Morristown, South & Pine. The menu's are VERY similar. (Almost too similar...I'd like to see some variety, but please don't take away my chicken & waffles)
We will definitely be back to try the dinner menu -- as it seems to be very popular later in the day.
Very excited to see this place in downtown Madison!
We celebrated my wife’s birthday here. Just the two of us.
Front of house (Andrew) and our waitress (Alex) were top notch. They made this dinner more then just dinner it was an experience!!! That was before they brought out all the mind blowing dishes!!! Chef Leia is a magician. I highly recommend asking what is seasonal, new to the menu, or your servers favorite. But pick anything, we way over-ordered to try it all. It’s totally affordable because it’s byob. We brought a $12 bottle of wine rather then spending an additional $60 for a bottle at the restaurant and spent that extra savings on delicious apps!!!
We live in NYC and are in Jersey every now and then for work and try to make it to one of Chef Leia’s restaurants every time.
Went to Central+Main for the first time for Brunch. It was AMAZING. Everything we ordered was delicious, best food we have had in a long time and great service. We will definitely be back!
If you are looking for top notch delicious food you must plan a meal here! Menu is amazing. I have eaten here many times and have never been disappointed. The menu changes with the seasons as they use a lot of locally grown/sourced items in their dishes. It is a BYOB but their in-house non alcoholic drinks are super yummy! Grain bowls and salads are awesome, salmon and steak are always cooked to perfection and the butterscotch pudding dessert is worth the cheat! The food looks and tastes like Chef Leia puts a lot of thought into it. Servers are great and attentive without being annoying hovering over you to leave.
I would also like to note that they definitely go the extra distance disinfecting the tables, servers wearing masks and gloves, etc. I can't wait to eat inside the restaurant again as the decor is very cool!
The food and concept is amazing! I tried the fish tacos and it’s heaven. The cod was nice and golden brown and crispy. The lime creama on top is an amazing flavor addition. The portion sizes were perfect and we all left satisfied and full!!
Excellent food! Creative and artful. Great portions and service. Will definitely be back!
This review has been overdue as I’ve been here a couple of times now & each experience has been perfectly consistent. Chef/owner Gaccione is doing a phenomenal job. Dined there this evening for an early dinner so not too crowded. I got the salmon which was perfectly cooked & decorated beautifully. The service was friendly & just right, not too overwhelming like some sit down restaurants can be. They even have these mixed drinks that are non alcoholic but so flavorful. I’m assuming they are made in house based on the ingredients & presentation. Oh & make sure to save room for dessert they never disappoint. Do yourself a favor & treat yourself to Central+Main. I look forward to trying their other location in Mo’town!
Tried the seafood pop up and loved it! The Chef addressed my need for gluten and dairy free for the broiled scallops, and they were delicious. The heirloom tomato salad was very fresh. Will go back!
This is one of my favorite places to come to! They have a new seasonal pop up concept with right now being the Summer/Seafood. The food is so fresh, BYOB, great vibes! Highly recommend the Crab Cakes, Fish Tacos, Clam Chowder & Lobster Nacho’s! First time trying lobster nacho’s and I’m definitely not disappointed! Will definitely be back this summer.
We were in a hurry and only ordered an appetizer (shrimp and grits), and the melon salad. They were promptly served, and our server was very accommodating. The check came quickly, and we were able to make our evening concert with time to spare. Perhaps we will have a chance to spend longer in the future. The menu looked terrific.
