Our first time and we loved this place. Food was fantastic and the beer was great. I don't even drink beer and Paul had me try their new Magnferia beer. I drank a glass. Burger options are phenomenal, the sweet potato fries were excellent and the dipping sauces were different but really good. Must try it!

We had a great dinner at Stout. The burgers are excellent. The service was amazing! We had the sweet potato fries and the flavored fries. We liked both.

Our second visit to this gem of a place confirmed my observation after our first visit-tastiest burger I've had in Louisville. On-site ground grain-fed beef adorned with all manner of additions makes it very difficult to choose, but my two choices have been superlative. The Stout burger's horseradish cream perfectly complemented the gruyère and blue cheese toppings; the Truffle Shuffle with mushrooms and truffle aioli was a masterpiece. Homemade Caesar dressing(yes, with a hint of anchovy) garnished a fresh romaine salad, and we couldn't stop eating the Poutine-style skinny fries. I don't eat bread pudding but my dining companions said it was the best they'd ever had. Going to try every burger on the menu, love this friendly delicious place.

Overall excellent! Staff is extremely friendly (gave us a free desert because it was our first time). The food is to die for. I had the stout burger and it was cooked perfectly. All of the flavors blended together wonderfully. Impressive tap selection. I will definitely be going back.

Was finally able to visit on a Tuesday as getting seated on weekends is impossible during peak hours. I ordered the Chicken Burger while my date ordered a salad ad sweet potato fries. The service and food were top notch. My Date thought it was good but a bit overpriced. I will return!

We had been hearing about this new place, how good the burgers were and it definitely didn't disappoint. Juicy and hopping with flavor- all 3 burgers at our table were top notch! We tried the "morning after" "the six weeker" (which was my favorite) and the "hot brown burger" I will say the beer was a little over priced for the size portions that would be my only complaint. We will recommend to friends!

Cool new place. Great atmosphere and beer selection. The morning after burger was delicious and the seasoned fries are addictive. Very happening, but definitely not enough servers. The waitress took forever to check in for more drinks.

Juicy flavorful burger. Great service from our server Ellen. I ordered the Stout burger and the toppings melded together wonderfully. I also had a bite of the Shu burger and loved their take on a pimento cheese spread. Definitely check it out.

Visited for the first time about a week after they opened. The wait staff and manager were great and checked on us (appropriately) to see how we were doing. The menu offers a variety of unique "themed" burgers made with ground chuck and brisket (a marvelous combination!) and topped with delectables like rosemary bacon, prosciutto, fig jam, truffle oil, roasted peppers, caramelized onions, etc. Definitely a gourmet burger at gourmet prices with no sides provided (sides can be ordered separate from the $14+ burger). They also recommend a paired beer for each burger--very nice. I highly recommend, but save up for the visit.

The burgers are really good here. The size was perfect. I'm not a fan of a huge sloppy burger you need a fork and knife to eat. The texture of the meat was excellent and seemed to me to be of great quality. It's nice to have a simple yet very flavorful burger with a great selection of craft and local beers to choose from.

Stout has been on my list of "must try" places since before we moved to Kentucky, so when friends suggested a meal out, "you pick where", I suggested we try Stout. We met on a Sunday evening and while the bar was hopping, we had no trouble finding a table for 4. And despite there being a game of the tube and people talking, we were able to have a long evening of discussion without feeling interrupted or rushed. Now, none of us are drinkers, so maybe that was a bit of a miss on my part, because their specialty is really pairing beer with food... So, I can't really give you an accurate review of the establishment from that point of view. However, my husband and I are big on Burgers, so... We ordered beverages and I was a bit taken aback that I couldn't get an Iced Tea... not even a Sweet Tea! All they serve is Sodas, Beer, Wine, and Water... so, Water is was! We decided on an order of Fried Pickles to Share and they were really some of the best Fried Pickles I've ever had! They came out hot and crispy without being greasy, and were served with both Ranch and a Spicy Chipotle Sauce that was super tasty! I ordered the Goombah, my Husband had the Stout Burger, and our companions both got American Burgers. The whole table ordered the Seasoned Fries except for me... I opted for the Poutine Fries, because I've been dying to try Poutine and figured anyone willing to put it on their menu was going to do it up right. Unfortunately, that was not the case. Ort Burgers all came served on tiny little metal plates... probably a sign that we were eating Bar Food, after all.. and if you're pounding down pitchers of ale, table space would be at a premium. Our sides came separately and the presentation of all of the food was quite lovely. My Goobah was, unfortunately, a little one-noted. While I could SEE the Smoked Mozzarella and Crispy Prosciutto (kinda), I couldn't take any of it distinctly... and the Lemon Basil Aioli was just lost! So much so that I ended up dipping what should have been an extremely flavorful burger in ketchup, just to add a little sweetness to the beef! Now, the beef itself was well cooked and of high quality.. so it was tasty in and of itself.. and the Brioche Bun was fresh. But I ultimately was just not blown away. My husband said as much about his Stout Burger... while he could SEE all of the ingredients he didn't really taste the Blue Cheese, Gruyere, Rosemary Bacon, or Caramelized Onions... the one flavor that did come across for him was the Horseradish Cream which he said was very nice. Now, on to the sides. I tried the Seasoned Fries and they were delicious! I love a good fry with rosemary... sublime! However, I was disappointed in the "Poutine" fries.. and here's why. They were not Poutine... they were cheesy fries... and if you're are going to charge more than double for an order of cheesy fries you should call them cheesy fries. Now, as far as cheesy fries go.. they were really quite tasty... But there was no cheese curds, and no gravy... and ultimately they, as well as my burger, just came across as salty. Not... overly so, but, that was the overwhelming theme of the night... not exquisite flavor combinations.. just.. salty. Upon discussing this on the way home, Hubs and I came to the conclusion that that is very much a "bar food" kind of thing. When people drink beer they want salty food.. and establishments serving beer want their customers to drink more, so they serve salty food. Now, as far as the pairings go, perhaps some of the more subtle notes in the food would be brought out by a correctly paired beer... or maybe the food itself brings something more out in the beer. That's all well and good, but each item should be able to be enjoyed on it's own... don't you think? Especially for those of us that can't/don't drink? In any case, the food was good, the service was great, the atmosphere was lovely, and even though it's pretty pricey, I could see us going back again one day.. perhaps on one of their couples nights.

Burgers were real delicious and cooked as requested. I had a salad with chicken which was good but small. Luckily the burgers were too big for my family to eat so I got a few bites which was just enough. Beer selection was great and the rustic ambiance was nice. Service was great but to be fair we were the only ones there for an early lunch on a Saturday.

Solid burger joint with excellent service. Not a ton of seating, but it's rarely too busy. Sweet potato WAFFLE fries are a must-get side item. Good rotating tap with a great variety. Menu gives beer recommendations for each burger which is super helpful. Overall, a good dinner if you're in the area!

First time there. I ordered the Crosstown (pictured) because the waitress and her coworkers recommended it Also, she said it was popular amongst the customers. And it was really good! Fried green tomatoes, pimento cheese (which we thought was weird but it was a good addition), some kind of (amazing) jam spread, and other toppings... It was really good! I had sweet potato fries with it and dipped it in their salted caramel dip... It blended well and kind of tasted like dessert. My friend had the Chipotle ranch sauce with her sweet potato fries but I didn't care too much for that mix. Under each item on the menu, there was a recommended beer for each food choice which was cool although I didn't drink. I had a party of 16 and the server (Alex, and she had on an awesome Tigger jersey) did her thing! She was prompt and speedy getting our requests in and keeping our waters filled. The place is not big at all so I wouldn't really suggest such a big crowd and the bathrooms have one stall in the men's and women's. Most of the night I saw women having to use the men's bathroom because of time waiting in line. My bill came up to $16 even and 20% gratuity was added making my whole bill $20 and some change. Parties over 6 have gratuity automatically added. We were celebrating something and had cake, they didn't hesitate to bring us extra saucers and to-go boxes for our dessert (even though it was brought in from another company) which I thought was REALLY cool. The GM even came out at the end of the night and thanked us personally and shook our hands for dining with them and giving them a heads up of such a big party. The staff was well prepared and on their toes! 5 stars and I will be back!

Get the Napolean and sweet potato fries w/ caramel on the side. IT WILL BLOW YOUR MIND. Seriously this place rocks. Half off all burgers from 5-6pm is a super sweet deal. They have a huge assortment of local brews, incredible burgers and sides. Their onion rings are pretty stellar as well as their fries. But their sweet potato fries with caramel is seriously one of the best things I've ever had in my life. Stout ranks in my top 5 favorite places to eat in Louisville purely for their sweet potato fries and caramel.

Delicious burgers along with a great variety of beers! My husband was very pleased from their beer list. Even though their wine list is limited, it is really fine (I had two different wines and I liked them both). Save some room for their bread pudding!!! The owner is very friendly, attentive and helpful. Congrats Chris, keep on the great work!

The entire menu sounds amazing. I had the Truffle Shuffle Burger - best burger I've had in a long time. We also had the seasoned fries - very tasty, and only $2! So many different beers to choose from, I very much enjoyed my Rosé ale. Staff were very friendly, service was great. I very much look forward to going back to try something else!
