Stopped in at a venerable favorite for pizza: Wick's at the corner of Baxter Avenue and Highland Avenue. As usual for a Saturday, the joint was packed and bustling, filled with the aroma of browning cheese and the thousands, if not millions, of pizzas that their kitchen has produce.
Found a cool and comfy booth over in the bar area (a nice way to get away from the plethora of young children running here, there and everywhere.
Had ice water and a draft Angry Orchard to start the meal, along with the garlic cheese bread. It arrived in short order, hot and the cheese still a little bubbly from the oven. Two halves of a hoagie bun, smeared with garlic butter, some of Wick's excellent cheese blend and a sprinkling of Italian herbs on top. Not fancy, but definitely tasty
Had to edit a bit longer than usual for the star of the show; 14 inches with pepperoni, Italian sausage and ham. But, they were extremely crowded and busy and their pizza is well worth the wait. When it arrived at the table, much like the appetizer before it, it's cheese was still bubbling from it's time in the oven. Kudos to whomever was prepping pizzas Saturday night; ours was loaded with the perfect amount of sauce, toppings and cheese to bind it all together. The crust was a nice, golden brown and the pizza, while never overly hot in the middle, was plenty hot around the outside perimeter.
It was an excellent pizza and I still have leftovers to chow on cold here at home. As always, Wick's was a success. They definitely know their pizzas. If you want to sample one of Louisville's BEST pizzas, plan on making a trip to Wick's soon. You'll be glad you did!
One of my favorite pizza delivery places. Pizzas are always tasty and piled high with toppings. Apps and salads are also very good. Delivery time can be a little slow, though.
Mighty Meaty Wick*. Delicious
I googled pizza places in Louisville and happened upon Wicks Pizza. It's in a neat little part of town that most people probably wouldn't even know it was there. The pizza is delicious! I'm actually eating a piece of cold pizza leftovers from there now! I never write reviews but this pizza parlor was totally worth it! Yum! Glad I found this place while passing through! I will defiantly make a point to go back!
This Wick's is probably the best of them all. The atmosphere here is pretty good and the food is too. I like the Cajun BBQ chicken pizza the most. The only drawback here would be the parking. It's not abundant in the neighborhood, particularly in late afternoon and evening.
Had Lunch here today with coworker. Ordered the 14" Big Wick, which was more that enough, took home three slices. That and two teas was $31.56. A little high, but good. This is definitely a pizza pie! Takes a while to get your pie, so if your in a hurry, may not be your best bet.
Traditional ambience. Liked the recipe and overall ambience. Pizza was good. Must visit.
5/5. Some of the best pizza, if not the best in the city. Laid back atmosphere

The Big Wick. Anybody who has ever eaten here knows the Big Wick Pizza is amazing. The atmosphere is fun, and I have spent many Wednesday nights here, if you've never been you are definitely missing out!
Yummy pizza!. Wick's Pizza makes really good pizzas, but its best enjoyed at their parlors rather than having it delivered. If you order delivery the whole pie usually ends up with a soggy crust by the time it arrives. So I recommend eating in or order carry-out so you can get it home before it turns to mush.
We walked here on a weekend night. We got pizza and some entrees. We didn't have to be seated, but it took forever for someone to take our order and serve us. The food turned out really well. This place is huge. It's a bar and pizza place. The restroom is okay in terms of cleanliness.
Overall a good experience at Wick's. Pizza itself was great, I ordered the Sicilian and was very impressed. The crust was crispy on the outside but light and chewy on the inside, cheese had a lovely char to it without tasting burnt and a very appetizing pull when cut. The pepperoni also had a delicious char flavor though it was maybe slightly overcooked. The sauce was very tasty, a rich tomato sauce with a strong yet not overbearing presence in the overall taste. Definitely a well made pie. Atmosphere was a very casual, dimly lit pizza bar. Music choices were appropriate and the smell was amazing. Service was okay, not fantastic but nothing that detracted from the experience. Would definitely recommend if you are in the area.
Wicks is my go-to place for pizza and pasta. The best neighborhood Italian place to meet up and celebrate.
If you sign up, they keep track of your birthday, etc, and not only wish you, but also add a gift or two.
I highly recommend Wicks.
Locations in the Hikes point area ( McMahan Plaza ), and Baxter ave.
Only a few good places to go in louisville for great quality pizza! Wicks never disappoints!
Wicks is worth the trip from Frankfort when we are wanting something special. Our favorite meals are the mighty wick, the wings and the best steak sandwich( I call it a steak hoagie) around. Wicks original pizza sauce is the best. And our favorite of the two restaurants is the original. If you like more of a sports bar vibe, then the newest place is for you. And a big shout out to Cara. We only get up there about once or twice a month, but she always remembers us and takes time to actually have great conversations with us.
I’ve been buying pizzas from Wick’s for about nine years now. The Sicilian has been by consistent favorite from their menu. Tonight for takeout I experienced friendly staff and a great pizza. And the ingredients are always super tasty, hot, and FRESH. They are generous with the toppings. Perfect comfort food. Highly recommend.
It was nice experience. I was there with friends for Pizza Week. We had the Cheeseburger pizza. It wasn't too bad. I enjoyed it. It would taste better with lettuce, tomato, and bacon to make to more delicious. BUT since it is pizza week, it is more reasonable for the price. I will like to come back and try few mores.
Food was wonderful as always!
Excellent service 1000%! As a former waitress, I know how it is to get a large group coming in at once- our server Kayla was very patient and accommodating to my group. We came in with mixed emotions from leaving a funeral service. Kayla was very friendly and made our day better on HER BIRTHDAY! Of course we celebrated her birthday and hopefully everyone left her a wonderful tip. Kayla deserves employee of the month & to be off work on her next birthday😉
For us the best pizza in louisville. Every time we come there the service seems a little slower than other places but the food is definitely worth it.
We ordered "The Boss Favorite", cracker thin crust, your choice of three toppings. Excellent, we will return before we leave town..We went back for 14" The Mighty Meaty Wick" added some jalapeño peppers and the rest is history. Superb pizza..
