Huge parking lot with lots of parking space. Stocked up on smoked salmon, Kirkland hard saltzer, croissants, etc. Don't go to Costco when you're hungry because you're definitely going to overbuy. Their portions are for giants - the shampoo bottle last for like 2 years and even the small items have big packagings.
I was in the neighborhood and went to get chicken bake for lunch. I noticed they only have hot dog, pizza and chicken bake on the menu. Hamburger and sandwch were no longer on the menu. I shared chicken bake and slice pizza with a friend.
I am truly impressed at the efforts this location has made to crowd control, reduce the amount of customers at any given time and limit the amount of items each member can purchase.
I was going to make a quick stop between work since the parking lot wasn't crowded and the store personal reported there were eggs and pull ups still available. As I walked to the store, I noticed a very long line walled with stacked empty pallets to guide members towards the entrance. I quickly turned around and said forget it.
I went to visit my last client and decided to try again since I was done with my day. The line was still there. The staffed at least 6 staff members outside ensuring everyone is fair and not cutting. The line seemed intimidating but only took about 15-20mins to get through. They separated the front of the line with groups that were briefed on how they cleaned shopping carts worked and limitations on hot items such as milk. Eggs. Diapers.
We single filed lined into the warehouse and another staff member gave us a nicely sanitized cart. I seriously felt like an elite member. The warehouse was stocked better than most locations and for once, it didn't seem so "apocalypse like". Their frozen food was still stocked so I was able to get some pot Stickers and wontons for my girls. One container of milk and eggs. One pull up box. A few other items. I still ended up with a whole cart of items but the shopping experience was so great.
This is what great team work looks like to ensure fair distribution of necessities. Thank you Costco fountain valley for the great effort during this chaotic time.
Don't sanitize their carts completely, theres no such thing as social distancing here, as much as id like to give it a lower review I'm reviewing the over all store from before the pandemic started. Most employee's are helpful but being in this store for more than 20 minutes is pure torture, but hey, its costco.
P.s. Apparently theres been a COVID outbreak with some of the employees here so I'd be cautious and avoid going as much as you could.
The shopping experience was great. But they need to organize checkout lines better so that customers can remain socially distanced. Everyone was squeezing into aisles going down the middle of the store. Did not feel safe there
