We had dinner here last night and it was the best Italian meal that I have ever had, outside of Italy. Since going gluten free, I don't usually order pasta because it is not that great but when our wonderful waiter Brian mentioned homemade butternut squash ravioli, I had to try it. It was the best pasta period, even the ones with gluten and the sauce was heavenly. Thanks, we will be back on our next visit to LA.
Delicious eggplant parmigiana! Such a treat! Fun and quaint, wait staff was spot on! Super crowded but perfect for our first meal on vacation!
Great traditional Italian
We had a large party and the service was very attentive and helpful with the menu. I felt like I was back in Little Italy in NYC. Very authentic from decor to food. We all really enjoyed it.
Awesome service and the perfect place to go after you land at LAX! Warm and friendly and plenty of fresh bread! Ravioli is the signature dish however the linguini was
Amazing with shrimp !
Gustatory. Delightful dinner. Around one table were five uniformed LAPD. Restaurant has been at that location, a few hundred yards from the Pacific Ocean, for 65 years. My Italian sausage and pasta were fine. Nice, but not big, wine selection.
Step back in time. Old style Italian restaurant. All the standards; lasagna, spaghetti Bolognese, Veal Parmagiana, Penne Arrabiatta, etc. Get a glass of Chianti and enjoy the local charm. Good quality, fair prices, plenty of food....Mangia!
Great location right by the beach in downtown Playa Del Rey. I love this place and their Baked Ziti even more.
Cute little hidden Italian spot by the beach. Make sure you request a table by the window for comfort. Service is good - feels family run. Parking is spotty but semi-decent neighborhood. Penne Ala vodka was savory and delish, and my wifes lobster ravioli was good. Looking forward to trying new dishes there next time. Oh! They even accepted an expired coupon we had - oops!
If you are looking for a cute cozy and yummy american italian dinner, you found it! I cant believe i have never tried this place, we will definitely be back. The bruschetta was refreshing and melts in your mouth, and the calamari was crispy and fresh without being overly oily. The chicken parm was delicious and THE GNOCCHI!!! it is so hard to find really good gnocchi, and this place has it. I am full and happy
Overall amazing experience...what could be better than enjoying wonderful food while surrounded by old time family photos covering every inch of the walls. Come for the food and stay for the atmosphere. Don't forget to order the cheesecake with the raspberry sauce to put a cherry on top of the whole experience!
good food RUINED by the older lady [shoulder length black and grey hair] at the front desk/register
they have zero signage for bathrooms, and having never been before, i walked up to ask if they even had bathrooms. the woman at the desk says yes [they do] then goes back to ignoring me. i then ask where they are, which she snidely replies 'behind the red door' as she rolls her eyes and goes back to acting like im not even there. ive uploaded a photo showing that there is zero signage in any way for bathroom locations. i dont know how she expected me to know they were behind a door without signs. and i definitely dont understand how she can be this rude/unhelpful to a customer. if she didnt want to be bothered maybe dont sit at the front desk. porca puttana
Authentic Italian restaurant, phenomenal food from homemade meatballs to their specialty, ravioli! Mmmmmm. Wine and deserts... Nothing but the best. The wait staff is the best of the best. And then there's the atmosphere. Beautiful and cozy. Indoor and outdoor seating options. Absolutely love this place.
A truly old school place. Great for a date or with friends. The servers are friendly and helpful. Ruhalla was our waiter and between the atmosphere and food it was a very pleasant experience.
Such a fun Italian restaurant with great food.
Our server "Sunshine" was very entertaining.
Love their roasted garlic on pizza. Love their pink vodka sauce on penne. Love their salads. Been their for lunch, dinners & happy hour- Such a gem of a place!
Hometown Italian cozy vibes. Great food and generally chatty dim atmosphere. Service can be slow, they seem to give more attention to the higher paying tables, but you can just get pizza or meatless dishes and it's very reasonable. My favorite dish is the tomato Vodka Pene. It's better than you think it'll be!
Perfect place to enjoy a fine Italian meal. I enjoyed chicken parmigiana meal capped off with spamoni ice cream. Just doesn't get any better than this !
This is by far my FAVORITE Italian restaurant in LA. Food tastes home cooked with care. Service is always friendly. And I absolutely LOVE the quaint atmosphere. Right by the beach so great for a romantic day or night date. I've been coming here for a number of years, never disappoints.
