(2018) Overrated and overpriced. Our first dish scallop came cold. Charged $17 for a large sake, but what really came up was a small bottle.
(2022) Had the chance to dine at the same restaurant the second time, unknowing that this was the same restaurants visited 4 years ago. This time it was a much better experience. Sat at the sushi bar. The California roll was very delicious (ordered one additional to go). Also enjoyed the grilled yellow tail and the short ribs. Sushi chefs were very friendly and responsive.
Best sushi I've had so far. Quick service and quality meat. The Bluefin tuna and Salmon slices were very thick & tasty.
Love this place. The rolls are super fresh and the service is fast and super friendly. I highly recommend!!
Fish was definitely good but I wasn't exactly wow'ed by anything. Then again I got the lunch "Izaka-ya plate" which was a little bit of everything I guess. Service was good.
Delicious Japanese food with reasonable price !
Another katsu-ya.
Holds up to the brand standard in fish quality and sushi preparations.
This particular location can get quite busy after 5. So try to make reservation.
Consider going for lunch. No huge rush at lunch on any days and they have great lunch deals for a quick bite under $20.
I do have to say the service here is a bit spotty. Sometimes it’s everything you expect and sometimes a bit subpar.
I lost count of the many sushi restaurants I've gone to in Los Angeles (and the country), but I'll be adding this one to my list of the ones I would visit again. I really enjoyed coming here in the work week for a quick, but good lunch. It is on the pricier side, but they have some great lunch specials.
This time around I went straight for the special rolls section. I settled on the Robert Roll (interesting name). It was on the smaller side and had a great taste with a hint of spiciness, but I wasn't left full like I typically am from a roll. That's probably a good thing. I highly recommend this roll, especially if you are not super hungry or don't want to get really full to leave room for something else (a Sapporo maybe?).
I ended up adding some vegetable tempura, which finished the job of leaving me fully satisfied. They actually have a lunch special for vegetable tempura that comes with rice, soup and salad for like $2 more, but I knew that would take me overboard and possibly have to close my office door to take a nap.
I took a little bite from my friend's crispy spinach on top of seared albacore belly. I specifically want to come back to order this for myself. Who knew crispy spinach taste so good and you cant go wrong with albacore.
Service was pretty good for it being so busy. It could be loud in there, but I found it easy to carry on my conversation throughout lunch.
They offer valet parking, or there is metered parking up and down the street. It's a busy area so parking is pretty terrible.
Since the moment you enter this restaurant you get hit by a couple of things. 1st how crowded it is and 2nd the smell of delicious sushi. It is one of the best places in the valley to eat sushi and Japanese cuisine at a reasonable price. The relation price-quality is perfect.
Excellent food! By far my favorite place for Sushi in LA. Relationship between quality and prices is perfect. Special rolls can be a little expensive but then you also have normal rolls at a very good price. My top choices are Lobster Dynamite Roll and Izaka-Ya Roll from the special menu. Cajun Salmon Roll and California with Snow Crab from the rolled sushi menu and for starter Rare Tuna Steak.
one of the best sushi places in West Hollywood. their lunch specials are not expensive and so good. if you get there early enough and your lucky to be one of the first 10 in line for lunch you are eligible for an amazing lunch special. it's cheap and tons of food. their regular lunch special is like $20 and includes all of the things they are known for.
