Tasty Ramen

Located just short walk from City Hall. We were waiting about 30 minutes. Ordered ramen with delicous creamy broth. Would come again if we are in LA downtown. Restaurant is cash only.

Very good flavorful ramen! And the takoyaki was amazing!!

Felt that the waitress could’ve been a little more attentive (esp since it was kind of slow the night we went) but she was friendly when she did come by to check on us.

Would def recommend based on the food!

I know what I want, and I know what to expect, but I'm seduced by the idea of the newer Spicy Miso. "I can't recommend it," my server says when I inquire. He doesn't make eye contact and squirms just the slightest so I let my friends take the plunge. I know I made the right decision when I taste their soup. It does taste like miso with spice, but the granules don't harmonize, and you leave the thin broth feeling rather incomplete.

For my non-Ramen appetizer, this time I went with the Gyoza this time around. Big and, a bit blended together. You’ll have to do a little work to separate them. Still, they were nice. Not the best I’ve had in town. I might have the Sausage if I ever come in here again.

After that, it was time for the Daikokuya Ramen, the house speciality. It’s still a delicious, silky smooth Tonkotsu broth, which is really tasty and really delicious. I still like it, despite the time I had at this particular location.

The ramen was good. The inside looks like a slice of Japan. I wasn't a fan of the gyoza.

Good option if Tsujita is busy (it always is). Daikokuya serves noodles at night Tsujita unless you go to the annex does (but it different style of noodles).

Cheap, quick and friendly, a bit to much thought went into the decor. It feels like a bad B movie film set. Bit salty is my only compliant.

Ramen don’t stop in Los Angeles and this time we’re out here at the westside Daikokuya . The Daikokuya one in Little Tokyo is always packed so hoping the Little Osaka version shows some love. As we arrive, there’s of course a line but not the masses of folks compared to the downtown counterpart. I also noticed that this Daikokuya’s interior is hooked up like you’re dining in the streets of Tokyo. That’s pretty fresh. Daikokuya’s ramen comes pretty good, especially if you’re a pork fan. Nice big bowl of fatty pork broth, succulent pork slices and that running yolk marinated soft boiled egg. Couldn’t pass up the gyoza and takoyaki either since we’re in the streets of Tokyo. The gyoza was real tasty and they even included the layer of fried skin at the bottom or top (however you look at it). The takoyaki was hooked up too, hot and nice dough proportion to octopus proportion. Somehow I always end up ordering more food than I can possibly eat at Daikokuya, maybe that’s a good thing though. Great atmosphere, food always on point. I've been enjoying the vegan options on the menu, and they're consistent with the quality . Quick service, small space tho so expect a wait if it's a busy time.

This is the only location that offers the chicken shoyu ramen which I thought was pretty tasty and had a large quantity. We also got spicy tuna roll for appetizer which was great and a good level of spice for us. The ramen was so filling though that we probably didn't need to get the appetizer. Our server was also really nice! I would definitely recommend this place.

Easy parking The chicken karage is very good The ramen menu is somewhat limited (looking for a spicy miso-free tonkotsu) and is a bit on the pricy side but it tastes good and is well proportioned

We had the dinner there after a show. It was quite late and there was still a long queue outside of the restaurant. So I highly recommend to get a number before heading there. The food was quite good. We had the ramen and cold dipping noodles and some dumplings. All good and delicious. The price is ok. The service was quite good except a waitress was a little weird but doesn’t bother us (to be honest 😅)

If you're in the mood for some authentic ramen, Daikokuya is definitely worth a try! The ramen is well-balanced and not too heavy or greasy, with perfectly cooked noodles that are sure to satisfy your cravings. While the chashu donburi (pork bowl) may not be to everyone's liking due to its sweetness, the pork is cooked to perfection and the dish is still worth a try. The atmosphere of the restaurant is also a highlight, with an interior that transports you to a traditional ramen shop in Japan. Overall, if you're looking for a satisfying and authentic ramen experience, Daikokuya is a great option to consider. While I wouldn't necessarily give it my highest recommendation, it's certainly worth checking out if you're in the area.

We thought we’ll have wait forever to get a place but luckily we got it in 15-20 min as we were only two. Else the wait was at-least 40 min. Food here was delicious. We expected a little more from Chicken Egg Rice Bowl. They have couple of vegan options for ramen(Vegan Sesame and White Vegan). We have gone with Vegan Sesame Ramen. Restaurant has a authentic Japanese ambience. You just feel that you’re inside a restaurant in Japan.

Went here with some friends yesterday and we ordered a bunch of things. Pretty much everything was good, and some items were very good. Loved the Gyoza - probably the best item we had yesterday. The sausages were very good too. The fried rice was decent, but didn't stand out. Thought it was a little drier than I like. The spicy ramen was good! Not particularly spicy though. Good service. We had a group of 6 and was able to get seated outside in under 20 minutes, at 6:15PM on a Friday. Inside the restaurant looks like crowded Tokyo streets - thought it was interesting.

I ordered the Ramen and half Pork Fried Rice combo. I have to start this review honestly and say the ramen was disappointing. The broth was bland. The pork didn’t add much flavor. I had this delivered so I’m cutting some slack… but I’ve had much better. I’m sure their more specialized ramens, like the spicy miso are much better. The ramen I received was a 2/5. The pork fried rice on the other hand was great! I’d even go as far to say it’s some of the best I’ve had in the Sawtelle area. I’d give the Pork Fried Rice a 4/5 I’ll have to give this place another try in person. I have a feeling it has potential. The overall meal warrants a 3/5, but since it was a late order and delivered I think a 4 will suffice. I’ll be back!
