Cafe Rio Mexican Grill

I love Café Rio food I’ve ordered it for take out tons of times! This time I went to go pick it up I was a little underwhelmed by the venue. It felt a little gloomy in comparison to how amazing the food it. The restaurant had a good amount of space but not many tables. The one employee I spoke to was nice and helpful. Parking was good too. I had the Salad which Grilled chicken and the cilantro lime dressing!

Cafe Rio is amazing! Fresh ingredients and oh so tasty. The only problem with this location is the bathroom. It smells like sewer and you can smell it as soon as you enter. And on this day, a customer brought in his dog which clearly is not a service dog. Personally, I don't like my food mixed with pet dander and pet hair UPDATE: 06/30/22 Bathroom scent was non existent! Thank you!!!!

While living in Las Vegas, we tried to get take out from here three times and just gave up. As you can see from the photo - my salad had no lettuce, just rice and meat, which is not what I asked for. I just wanted a salad with no chips and cheese. We didn't check the bag before we got home - big mistake. Hopefully quality has improved because I really like Cafe Rio.

Unfortunately I will give this review because it is the third time that I get an order here and the food is terrible. I understand in the middle of a pandemic it is difficult to find employees, qualified personnel…. But no reason to do everything like “I don’t care” I have known Cafe Rio since I came to visit Las Vegas and it was always something different. I know the taste and preparation as well as the ingredients. Today my order had dry and raw rice inside the salad. Recently prepared order was cold, the meat tasted…. really bad…. Really sad.

Dirty DIRTY. Oh yea did I mention? Dirty. The flies behinds the counter should have been my "ok we are leaving." moment, But one star for the food peppers acknowledging the flies, tossing the food out, and starting over on my order. Bathrooms were extremely smelly to the point where the smell was coming into the dining area. Lots of dirty tables and when asking the girl at the register for assistance with wiping down our table, she gave the "Do I really have to?" Look and proceeded to say under her breath a reluctant, "Sure". Also dirty apron left on one of the tables. Never again. At least the south Durango Dr location is a lot more presentable.

This place went down big time. Very dirty and the food isn't good anymore. The restrooms have a bad moldy smell that eminates into the dining room. The tables and chairs are very dirty. Look under the soda machine and you will see years of old syrup. If that's what I can't see. I had find out what I'm not seeing in the kitchen. Where's the health department?????????

Las time I ordered a grilled chicken salad on 5/15/22 . My first complaint was the chicken was over cooked and dry. also I don’t know what they consider lettuce but What I got was leaves of something else tasted nothing like lettuce I ordered this online for pick up never again. I hate that happened because I love cafe Rio salads . Next time I place an order it will be in person so I can see what’s going on with my food preparation.
