Tasty Island

Okay, so I went by this place yesterday ( on a Monday) evening and it smell so good I was on my way into sprouts. I said I was going to try them out (tomorrow) which would be Tuesday only to find out they are close right in the middle of the week I’m bummed out about it because I’m pregnant and was really craving oxtails today. Maybe they should hire more staff so they are open during regular business hours. I’ll be back with an update on the food once I try it.

Bless up the chef! This is a small authentic Jamaicans mom & pops shop. They give you that home cooked feeling. Made with love! I’ve tried most if not all of their menu. Best Curry chicken and Oxtails, both are delicious and not spicy. Jerk chicken is spicy kick! They’re A bit Pricey but well worth it being for filled with heavy food. Great portions , enough leftovers for a snack later. Try the lunch special if available. Call in your orders as to restrictions prevent dinning. Great Patties, my favorite is veggie patties. D&G KOLA champagne is always ice cold! If the prices go any higher, I’ll probably have to cook it myself. Perhaps they did not like the service. Great service, food is homestyle, and I got schooled on some differences in our cultures when I was there, I love the diversity and I love the environment and the nostalgic jamacian setting, real deal mom's and pops type place, makes you feel like if there was a problem they will not shrug you of to a corporate office but actually take care of you right there. My meal was ox tail and red peas and rice, we say red beans where I'm from but lol that's how I got schooled, loved it. Look at my plate! this is home cooking in your face. Enjoyed it 💯
