Excellent. This 2 story restaurant was pretty busy for a Monday evening, but we were quickly seated. The menu is expansive and very diverse including many funky dishes, but we went conservative by ordering Szechuan eggplant hot pot that came out sizzling and a lamb stir fry with green onions. Both dishes were executed to perfection and delicious. At the end of our meal we received a complimentary dessert that was slightly gelatinous. We found the wait staff to be very hospitable and professional so this restaurant remains on my To Do list.
Lately I've been going to new restaurants that recently opened in town like Bund Shanghai Restaurant, which serves Cantonese style food. The name of this restaurant is named after The Bund , a historic landmark/waterfront area in Shanghai , which makes it a popular tourist destination: Located on corner of Spring Mtn Rd. & Decatur Blvd Quiet and peaceful atmosphere Nice table marker Table booths Menu My friends and I shared each of our meals. I shared my tofu dish that I enjoyed because of it's big portion, the sauce used, and it wasn't drenched in oil. Also we shared some soup, fish, and noodle dishes, which were all delightful. The menu has pictures of many items, I think enough to make you drool! Here are some pages (click on a photo to enlarge): I thought their food was great and had a lot of traditional dishes to choose from, therefore I recommend eating at Bund Shanghai Restaurant!
Incredibly delicious and authentic Shanghainese food at great prices! (I’m Chinese and I’m a massive foodie, so I know when I’ve found a great Chinese eatery.)
We tried all the Shanghainese classics and they were very well done. We also met the owners and they were so friendly and humble. Don’t miss this if you’re in SF!
美味、正宗、地道。价格实惠。上海人做的上海菜。必试!
Very very good Shanghai restaurant. Very authentic. I am from China and have been to a lot of restaurant over years, and I definitely recommend this one if you wanna try some authentic Shanghai food!! It is not heavy flavored but definitely amazing! Also the people who served us were very nice and definitely alike people in China. I mean seriously. Very clean environment and just really nice.
We had a pretty decent dinner here. It was super hard to find a place to dine in, but finally we found this place. We had the Shanghai thick Chow Mein, Kung Pao Chicken and some dumplings. Everything was tasty.
Extensive menu, flavorful food and quick service. Like anywhere else, the prices have creeped up since 2020. I still recommend it for the quality.
I lived in Shanghai and China for a while so was excited to get to eat here while visiting SF. The food tasted so great and was very authentic. The Shanghai dumplings and stir fried eggplant were amazing as were the tomato/egg and mushroom/bock Choi dishes. So good!!
The place itself was very simple. The service wasn't friendly, but efficient. The food was simple, homey and authentic-tasting. An unassuming but satisfying amount of flavor and heat on both the Mongolian beef and Kung Pao chicken. The hot and sour soup was the highlight of the meal.
The xiao long bao here are to die for! Some of the best ones I’ve had in a long time and I’ve tried many. Definitely worth the stop if you’re wandering in Chinatown!
