I love this place, quite a variety of selection! My son who is very picky about restaurant selection said " this is a piece of heaven". I would highly recommend to anyone visiting LV.
I am so glad that my friend brought me to this place. Their food is not salty compare to other buffets. Food are fresh and taste great. I will definitely come back ...
First visit back since 2019. Food was great, service was amazing. The only issue I had was the crab legs. Was one of the advertised features. They were small and water logged.
An old local favorite, as far as I can recall, this restaurant has been in this location for over 12 years and continues to serve consistently delicious food. It's also a great thing to see the same staff for more than a decade. They are friendly, and the taste of the food is excellent. Especially in the evenings, they offer crab legs!
Still one of my favorite places for crab legs!..Makino's, if you've ever been there before, serves crab legs (dinner only) some added food to their buffet. Yakisoba, garlic shrimp, and baked shrimp. The sushi selections are still there, so there's a variety to choose from; your choice. I love the fact there's a few employees that are still there and have worked there for over 25 years.
I’ve been a frequent visitor to Makino in Decatur, and once again, the experience exceeded my expectations. The freshness of the food, coupled with impeccable service, has remained consistent. The servers are consistently friendly, creating a welcoming atmosphere. As a Japanese food enthusiast, I can confidently recommend Makino for its outstanding selection. It continues to be my go-to for a delightful dining experience.
This place is immaculately clean. The food is well-stocked, fresh, and well-presented. The service is awesome. Aika the greeter and server was hustling. I've never seen someone work so hard without stopping as she did. Very impessive. The other staff I interacted with (cashier, a sushi guy, another server) were all overtly friendly and seemed genuinely eager to please. So it was the good service that surprised me the most. The $50 price point reflects the crowd I saw of big eaters who focused on seafood. I overpaid for my simple choices but that's my fault for not eating a bunch of crab. Anyway, lots of people greeted as regulars, so that's an endorsement.
This place is great amazing selections. From Japanese food, different salad, soup and dessert. This is my wife and I go to place. Now they also serve AYCE "Hamachi Kama" (Grilled Yellowtail Collar) if you're visiting Las Vegas this is a must go to place. Amazing server, ambiance and ample parking.
There was a line when we showed up at open. All the seniors were ready to grab all the crab legs and Nigri. There was still plenty of food quickly rushed out. Sushi quality was pretty good, despite some chewy pieces. Price was $45 per person. Would return.

Makino is a Japanese buffet that, according to my cousin, is fairly popular in the area. And having gone there with family (I didn't foot the bill as another family member paid), I understand why.
While the food isn't exactly a restuarant I'd immediately recommend, the restaurant is absolutely a place where you get your money's worth. In fact, this restuarant is actually my uncle's favorite to go to!
Overall, I feel as though I can't give it anything short of 5 stars. If you need to fill your belly with good Japanese food and try a large variety of sushi, Makino is the place for you. While it may be cheaper than the more specialty place, I say "cheap" in the BEST way possible.
Unfortunately, I wasn't able to have a taste of the snow(?) crab they offer because I missed that day, but one day I hope to visit again — because going only two times isn't enough for me. I genuinely hope that the next time I'm in Las Vegas that I can go to eat again.

Showed 15 minutes before they opened on a Sunday and waited about 30 minutes in line to get seated. The short wait was definitely worth it! The buffet is big and well organized. The food was better than I expected and will definitely come back the next time I visit Vegas. I highly recommend the matcha desserts and sushi
We take all our friends here. The sushi buffet is off the hook. It's always fresh, and since it's always busy, none of the sushi sits out for very long. They have several sushi chefs busily whipping up new batches, right before your eyes. If there is something you don't see out just ask one of the chefs and they will make it for you. If you have that one friend who isn't down for sushi, not to worry they have plenty of other piping hot dishes, salads and deserts. The staff is very helpful and attentive too. You're going to love it here. It's a locals favorite.
