First time visiting the place and i was in love. The decoration, the atmosphere, the service and the FOOD, was amazing. I’ll rate this place with an A+ and recommend it to alot of people.
Ps. The food it’s all i expected to find, to remember that special taste of Puerto Rico food. Can’t wait to go again.
Very Very Good, good and fresh and hot our waitress was prompt n polite..i asked her, if it was her abuela in the kitchen..so Authentic. I Had the shrimp monfongo which was deliciously seasoned and not dry just yummy goodness with a healthy helping og shrimp..no scimpy portions my hubby had the chuletas with beans n rice..he flipped over his meal and the beans were awesome..my daughter had pernil..not dry at all seasoned right and her maduras were fried perfect...my daughter goes to Millersville so we are gonna make this spot our goto..when we visit
So my husband and I decided to give this place a try. And I must say I am so happy we did! It was definitely good! The rice was perfect! The food had all the perfect old school flavors. A lot of Spanish food goes light on the flavors in this day and age and they do not lack! The prices are a little high for and appetizer for only 2 empanadias was 9 buck I do think they should serve 4 for that price. I do get it its a small home town business trying to succeed! But there is a few things they could give and pull on. I'd love to see some more small Spanish things but I would definitely go back here! I just hope it is as good as the first time when I go back! Keep up the good food Old San Juan! Thank you for the good hospitality!
What a VERY nice surprise to find this restaurant! The building and decor is outstanding with a flair of the arts. The lunch buffet was a bit warm but fresh and seasoned.
Luis our server was courteous and prompt. We will definitely be back!
Being a Puerto Rican, a musician and a cook, this place is excellent. Nice upscale Puerto Rican food service. The food was delicious! The atmosphere is beautiful, the music is perfect (Salsa Lo Mío) and the staff was supper friendly. I know there’s plenty of great Puerto Rican places to eat at a lower cost but here you get what you pay for. Perfect date night and anniversary for the Mrs and I.
Nice atmosphere with music. Our server Tyara was very friendly and welcoming, and attentive. The food was full of flavor. If you are in Lancaster and are looking for foos that taste home cooked swing by Old San Juan.

Went with a friend were we sat at the bar, we both ordered a Modelo beer, and one order of the beef empanadas and the ceviche to share.
This was a Sunday afternoon they had just opened that Friday so they were still trying to get organized. The bartender Natasha was amazing, our food did take a while to come considering what we ordered but we think two big orders went in before ours, Natasha tried to make the best of it and kept apologizing for the order taking so long.
When our ceviche came we asked for chips, we thought it would be served with chips it wasn't so we paid extra for the chips. We did make a suggestion while we were their, that instead of putting all the limes and lemons on our plate they should have just included the chips. The Ceviche was very good. The empanadas were good but we thought a little too expensive you got two for $9, they were not that big. Maybe just spoiled with the size my friends make😊 Still have them 5 stars, due to how pleasant and accommodating everybody was and the food was good.
This place use to be the Loft, which was a long-running wonderful restaurant in Lancaster, many good memories of wonderful meals there. Happy to see somebody took the space over. We were told they were going to be putting a "Rum Bar" downstairs with entertainment we definitely will be going back and wish them the best of luck with this new location.
Absolutely amazing food. Was just to PR and this food ranks right up with the places we ate in PR. Staff was polite and attentive, thank you Christal for an amazing dining experience! Ding dong baby ding dong
The service was wonderful, the food tasted fantastic, and the drinks were amazing. Definitely a great spot for “special occasion” dining.
Food exceeded expectations. Atmosphere was low key, felt great. My only concern was the promptness of the waitress. Because she served multiple roles (bartender, waitress, etc.) she took long to service us. Not a deal breaker but need to work on that. Overall the place was outstanding.
Ay…Caramba viva la comida criolla!! Believe me it’s the best coconut and pineapple mojitos cocktails drinks that you will get in town. We had seafood salad with plantain and mofongo with fried pork was delicious. Our experience was amazing because we had it all from food, server and weather perfect. Que viva Puerto Rico la isla del encanto!!!

Old San Juan – Lancaster, Pennsylvania – 10/9/2017
Hard to find unless you spot the small sign placed on the sidewalk, you may not find it. Rest assured, where the GPS brings you, that’s the place… The Restaurant is located inside the building that houses the Cigar Shop (also owned by the Restaurant).There’s a public parking lot right next door.
Now… When you get to the restaurant… Spanish music can be heard in the hallway and the décor…? It reminded me of the restaurants in Old San Juan Puerto Rico we visited..This place is a hidden Gem! Fun and festive! There’s a large bar on one end and a tropical setting right down to stone floor. It is as though a time warp transported you to Old San Juan itself! Kudos to the owners for the design work.
I started with the Beef & Cheese Empanadas. Bite into the flaky crust and when the seasoned Beef makes contact with your palate, your senses come alive! It’s an instant feeling of gastronomic euphoria… Dip it in the hot sauce and it takes you to a whole other level… Wow… And that’s just the beginning.
For the main this evening, the Pernil… Roasted Pork, fried Sweet Plantains or Madoros as they call them with fluffy white rice and Redd Beans… I ordered an extra side of Plantains… Amazing! It brought me right back to my days on the Islands as a little boy. I even had a glass of Tamarind juice. They sure do give you a lot of food. I purposely didn’t finish everything knowing that there’s dessert.
All I need to see on the dessert menu is Flan and I’m done! Here they don’t just have Flan, but they have two types of Flan; Vanilla and Flan con Queso which adds Cream Cheese to the mix. I could just sit here for hours on a slow Flan drip… Where do I even begin?! Although jo Cappuccino, their brewed coffee is almost Espresso-like…
What a great experience. The two young ladies that run the place do a great job and the food is delicious. I’ll definitely be back!
