We just moved to this neighborhood recently and were so excited to have this place just a short drive or walk away! My fiancé and I ordered togo for the first time and we were super impressed! We got a Barbacoa and a chicken tinga burrito with a side of chips and guacamole. The burritos had a delicious sauce over top which was the perfect flavor boost and did not make the burrito soggy at all. The guac/salsa that came on the side of the burrito was very spicy and great for those who want an extra kick! The appetizer guacamole was really fresh and delicious, chips would have been better warm but that's the price you pay for Togo. Everything was cooked fast and the staff were polite on the phone and in person. We can't wait to come in next time for margaritas!
Decent place for a bite or a drink. Their tomatillo salsa used to be amazing but over the last couple years or so has lost it's goodness. Haven't had a full meal in a while here but the barbacoa used to be great and the feel and patio during the summer are great.
LOVE this place, love the atmosphere, and love the staff who accommodates our most ridiculous requests, such as serving a burrito entree on a different type of plate because the silverware can slide off. They didnt even ask why or put up a fuss, good kitchen staff right there. The food is exactly as I order and expect every time, and their house margaritas get the job DONE.
Staff is cool. Never wait on a drink or nothing. Food is meh. I've tried to like it...but all the meats are dry. Pork tacos..... So dry and chewy. Chicarrones had a good flavor, but again so dry and chewy. So next time I came here I tried the barbacoa on tacos.... Seriously what the hell? It's like it was roasted for 72 hours and then sat in a hot pan for days with no moisture.
Fine if you want a drink, if you want decent food my girl says all the vegetarian options are good but stay away from any meats, you'll just be pissed and want a refund.
UPDATE: Not sure what changed but last burrito I got from here was made with love. Sorry I spaced and didn't get a picture of it but let me tell you... By far the best I've had in a good minute. Presentation was well above expectations and flavor was on point. Had the pork burrito and meat was tender and juicy....I was extatic. If you like SPICY green chili this place is definitely worth a stop. No hot sauce needed.
Yummy lil tapas-style artisan tacos and a nice location on an end-cap with a patio bar.
Decent craft beer selection, servicable and inexpensive cocktails.
Many Bel-mar employees seem to congregate & drink here after shift.
Definitely better than Bar Louie or Bakers Street.
Recommend.
