Had a late Sunday evening dinner at Thai Lao. We were quickly seated and our server offered many suggestions and explained the varying dishes well (compare and contrast Thai and Lao cuisines). We settled for he cashew chicken and the Nam Tok salad. The chicken dish was very good and the Nam Tok very similar to a Yum Nuer Thai salad but without the spice. I typically enjoy the spice but decided to try the Lao version and was happily surprised, though I'd try the Thai spicy next time. Great mean for two $33. Will easily return.

A must try is the beef salad Num Tok! And their Pad See Ew. You can always tell them ur spicy level which I always do mild. ;) They are the only Thai Restaurant so far here in Kapolei.

Best thai food in oahu. Excellent food, very reasonably priced menu. We love this place, came here 3 times during our 10 day trip (would eat here more often but wanted to try other places). Definitely 5/5 stars.

Busy restaurant, good food, and friendly customer service. The wait for our food was a little longer but it came out hot, fresh, and just how we ordered it.

Thai Lao is the newest restaurant to hit the west side and is seemingly doing very well with great food and friendly service. Though they only been open since August 2011, the few people I've talked to who were waiting for an open table were repeats and said they come there quite often. Thai Lao is a small restaurant, seating about 40 people. When we got there it was a full house with a few people waiting outside. Lucky for us, tables were finishing up and we didn't have to wait long for a table. We went there about 7pm, peak time I know but I noticed while we were there people just kept streaming in. There was never an empty table. The service was fast and friendly. I later found out the owner was the one who serviced our table. The other servers also served our table. Making sure our drinks were food and checking on us several times through out our meal. Let's talk food. For appetizers we had the calamari and stuffed boneless chicken wings. The calamari was so tender it just melted in your mouth. The stuffed chicken wings had a lot of flavor that I didn't use the sweet sauce that accompanied the dish. For our main, I had the green curry with seafood. The seafood in the curry was shrimp, squid, mussels and fish and the seafood portion was very generous. I ordered medium and it had a little punch to it but it was very flavorful and one dish I'd highly recommend. My friend's father also ordered the green curry except he ordered it with chicken, he also chose medium. He hadn't had Thai food in over 20 years but he was very pleased. His companion who's never had Thai food was a bit apprehensive and ordered the broccoli with beef. She really liked it a lot. My date ordered the spicy deep fried dish and he enjoyed his as well. Of course we all tasted each other's dishes and were very pleased with all of them. We also ordered sticky rice, a must have when eating Thai food on my opinion. Though Thai Lao is still in it's infancy I highly recommended this restaurant. It's one of the best Thai food restaurants that I've been to in awhile. I suggest making reservations though. I will def make reservations the next time I go. Towards the end of our meal, Vince who was one of the servers who also attended to our table told us that they had opened last year and he pointed to our original waiter and told us he was the owner. Very refreshing to see an owner involved and caring about his business. Sorry for the long review, simply put: great food, friendly and fast service.

My husband ate here for the first time 5 days ago and has wanted to go back ever since. I see why. Dinner was wonderful! My 3 year old even enjoyed the tofu- that has never happened before. Very kind service and reasonable prices. It's hard to find anything to complain about.

The food was good and service was friendly and efficient. I would go again. Next time, I would know to order my curry mild instead of medium, because it was HOT (but tasty).

This is the new best Thai on the Leeward (West) side! Amazing spring rolls and Tom Sum (Papaya Salad) Bathroom so clean you could eat in it! Found it last week, added it to urbanspoon; and have been there 3 times in the last 10 days!

The food and service were incredible. I had the Pad Thai and my husband had the Drunkard Noodles. The medium spice was spicy so beware if you don’t have a high spice tolerance! The Spring rolls were so good too! No free soda refills unfortunately. Good size portions. Overall 9/10.

Really incredible service. Our waiter went to great lengths to confirm our order and the cook prepared excellent vegan versions of several dishes for our family. The food at Thai Lao is top tier among all we’ve had- across the globe. We went three times in our week vacation here because the food was so good, and also because our server treated us like welcome guests. Highly recommend!

Dropped in one day just for Thai iced coffee which was yummy, went back for lunch. I got the tom yum fried rice which was excellent, my friend had sweet and sour stir fry which she really liked. There are 5 levels of spiciness: mild, medium, hot, Thai hot and Lao hot. She got mild, I got medium and added their chili crispy garlic oil and it was just right. Portion was enough for takeaway too. Will go back to try more dishes. Good service too. Highly recommended.

I give them 4.5 stars. Flavors were good and authentic. Decent portions and price but i do have complaints. I was never asked how spicy i wanted the dishes and they came out with no spice but thats not a problem i just requested some chili flakes. They actually charge you extra to get the food "thai spicy" and then even more for "lao spicy" which is weird to me. Sticky rice was an extra $3.50 which is fine but the rice was very yellow indicating it is not fresh. Oahu has better Thai food in general than all of the other islands. This place is good but service is so so. I would still come here again for the flavors though. The Thai Tea was good also. Not watered down and full of flavor.

A delicious Thai cuisine in Ko Olina with varieties of meals available. Their fried rice tastes great, with different proteins to choose from, each changing its taste. Slightly expensive compared to other Thai restaurants but it is worthwhile to dine in for their delicious and savoring Thai meals.

We got takeout from here and the food was so good. The pad thai was slightly burned on the bottom and had no tofu in it even though thats what we ordered, but still very good. When I first picked up my food they forgot to include my second rice, and then when i went back to get it they gave me the wrong rice but the food was so good I would definitely go back again. We got vegetable and tofu pad Thai, cashew nut stir fry and panang curry. Everything was very delicious! The price was also good for the amount of food you get.

We heard about this restaurant from a local friend. We enjoyed our meal here and will be back. The staff was friendly and welcoming. Service was prompt and our server was glad to answer questions and make suggestions. I ordered the green papaya salad and asked for it to be spicy and it was!!! I really liked it and it was filling. My husband ordered Chow Fun noodles with beef and broccoli. We shared spring rolls. Everything was delicious and the sauces had complex layers of flavor.

BRAAAAAHHHH THIS IS THE DEFINITION OF ONO! We got pork laab as an appetizer, I got the pad woon sen w/tofu, my husband got the basil stir fry w/chicken, and our kids split a fried rice, and ALL of it was absolutely amazing! Our waiter, Vince, was also very sweet and patient as we made our decisions (it's so hard to choose!), and the food was quick. I almost wish we didn't live in Kailua so I could come back every week! 10/10 recommend!
