I visited EJ's with a group of people. We had a great time. We mostly each got something different. This is a great place for comfort food, but it's a little better than just that. Well executed. Ingredients are sourced well, better quality than it could be. There is a clear interest in providing something a cut above. I love the seating, it's comfortable and encourages you to stay. There's power at the bar in case you need to plug in a phone or laptop. Service is super friendly - across the board everyone working there really wants you to have a great experience. It's accessible, restrooms are as well. They are gender specific. I think the Brussels sprouts are the best I've ever had anywhere. I really liked the brisket. I wished I'd gotten the green beans, they looked excellent. I returned about a week later to try out their brunch. The bacon is the best bacon I have ever had.

This is a fun little eatery, the service was great, the food was mostly good. I ordered something really complicated, they served it correctly, and it tasted great. My friends burger was a little burnt, and the food was a little pricey though(even for my complicated order of an extra egg, and no potatoes or English muffin). They had live music which was cool, but I was yelling the whole time to talk to my friend and wife. The tables were huge so there was a lot of room. The parking lot was a good size, over all it was a good experience.

Amazing. That sums up this place! They have a rotating menu so you're sure to find something different when you come back. Started off with a half order of biscuits and gravy. Excellent flavor, gravy was a tad runnier than I was used to though. The biscuit was perfectly cooked and held up it's crispness with the gravy. Followed that up with the breakfast ribs. It's like eating a sausage patty on a bone. It had a nice sauce and some pickles and jalapenos on it. Gave the dish a little kick! This was part of the "meat and 3" meal. I had the Mac and cheese, greens, and spicy sweet corn. All 3 are tasty! I would recommend any of their sides if they are like these 3! We topped this off with the white chocolate bread pudding. Oh em gee! That was a fantastic dessert! Huge portion for the price too! Definitely give this place a try! It's worth the drive.

Great food and great atmosphere. I enjoyed the salmon and avocado toast special today. I wasn't sure about the blood orange segments, but it was a delightful addition. The side salad was as well dressed as the one I had last time. I went today with a friend and he was equally satisfied with his meal. Given his height, plus his wheelchair, most tables are too short for him, but the tables here are the perfect height. We ordered the white chocolate bread pudding and it did not disappoint.

We went on a Friday and got the burnt end special. True burnt ends, very tender and the sauce complements the meat very well. Talked to Eric who is one of the owners. He made us feel very welcomed. We will be back for sure.

Been wanting to try this place for awhile and loved it! It's high quality food right in the heart of the West Bottoms. The menu can change seasonally but the ongoing theme is a "Meat & 3" option where you pick one protein and 3 sides. Here is what we ordered: {Pork Chop w/ 3 Sides - Green Beans, Braised Collard Greens, & Summer Squash Casserole} - pork chop was tasty, but my goodness they know what they're doing with these sides. All were so flavorful, I couldn't stop eating the collard greens, but the star was definitely the squash casserole...wow. {Brisket Grilled Cheese} - Smoked Brisket, Aged Cheddar and Swiss Cheese on Texas Toast; my husband's pick, definitely cheesy & the brisket was tender but the bread to meat/cheese ratio was uneven for me; as the side we picked Roasted Sweet Potato Wedges - not sure how they transformed a sweet potato like that but they were the best I've ever tasted!

Truly a Kansas City gem here, the food is DELICIOUS, well priced, and VERY well portioned. The owners are just the nicest people and the atmosphere is very unique and ties into the area well. Its a very comfortable place to meet up, have a meal, and just connect and relax. They're catering is wonderful as well... and the Mac & Cheese... you cant beat it! Don't be afraid to try it, seriously, it will become your new favorite spot.

68th Birthday lunch for Karol Binggeli !! Loved the food except the bun was too hard to eat more of a crouton 😕. Need one more stuff/bartender on drinks. Definitely going back !!!! The white BBQ sauce is a great change of pace.

Awesome place for lunch. The wife and I have been down here a few times for lunch. The food is simple comfort food locally sourced. Service has always been excellent and the prices in my opinion are better than reasonable for the quality of food they bring to your table.
