I placed an order online & when I arrive to pick it up, I was surprised that the restaurant was in the gas station. Any who, the service was cool & the food was ok. The picture is gyro plate, veg, hummus with side of double meat.
UPDATE: Make a long story short. I mistakenly chose pick up instead of delivery when I ordered thru Uber Eats so I called the restaurant to tell them that Uber can’t fix it & if there was any way that they could deliver & unfortunately they said no. I said well, just cancel the drink & I’ll ride my bike to pick it up & hung up the phone. Immediately I get a call back from them saying that they will deliver it to me with no (?)charge! I tried to tip the driver a generous tip but he would not accept it..That was GREAT service.

A friend recommended Papu's, and I was concerned that this was another trendy "restaurant in a gas station" or some other utilitarian place. Papu's, however, transcended that by delivering good food, on time, at a very reasonable price.
I had the Gyro Platter, which has a nicely done gyro accompanied by some hummus, a little salad, and an extra pita. They cooked the meat without being dry; the vegetables were crisp; and the tzatziki sauce was tasty!
The hummus had a nice tang to it, without being overly spicy, and even in the plastic "to go" container, it came out looking good and, more importantly, tasting good.
The service was quick and friendly, and though the location offers a stylish dining room like the expensive places, there were clean places to sit.
If you're looking for a very reasonably priced, well-prepared gyro, this is your place. I'll report in again after I order the shawarma.
PS I ordered through Clover, which has no added fees to the customer, but I'm sure there are fees to the restaurant.
This chicken shawarma sandwich is the best freaking shawarma in Kansas City! I had to take my fiancee here to get her one. She also says it's the best she's ever had. Just get one
Papu’s is the best. Great Prices. Loaded and Delicious Gyros. Friendly Staff. Convenient location for extra snack or drinks. Fast Service. Overall a solid place for a tasty lunch.
My first visit on a Sunday evening around 8:15 pm was memorable for both the pleasant service experience and OUTSTANDING Mediterranean food. I gave them 5 stars on Yelp!—yet, when I returned a few days later around the same time of day, I was turned away. Undaunted, I returned for my 3rd visit to again, less than stellar service from Mr Magnanimous. The FOOD here is the thing. It’s great. That’s it! If you’re looking for a romantic spot to dine and impress, Papu’s on 75th probably won’t rise to match that conation. (I’ll be going there occasionally anyway.)
Best Gyro available. Price is amazing. Loaded Gyro with your choice for other Greek food as well.
Really surprised to only see 4 stars so I had to post a review. This is a great little neighborhood spot. They have great gyros, shawarma, and baklava. Very friendly service and if you need to get gas or buy some snacks or smokes you’re in a gas station. What’s not to like?
I do not come in for the atmosphere but to get my order to-go. This is a hidden gem inside a gas station. The Gyros are awesome, and Tim, who has worked there for a few years, is a great guy to chat with while the food cooks.

This place has been around for forever. I used to come here when I rented a room in prairie village and now that I own a home in Brookside I still come. My point being that this place is for everyone. The food is really good and the prices are reasonable. The location is very Central to a lot of the Waldo, Brookside, Prairie Village neighborhoods. It's really hilarious that this place is in a gas station.
The last time I was here they did not have rice, but the gyro plate was really good. The dolmas are fire and their tzatziki and feta are on point. You really can't go wrong for this kind of fast food, because it doesn't really feel like fast food. I love a Mediterranean restaurant in this neighborhood. No wonder it has been around for so long.
Thank you to the nice folks who run this place. I really enjoy a locally run restaurant and these people do a great job. I come here probably once a month with my family and sit on the back patio. On a nice day, this is one of the more pleasant places to eat in the area and I suggest it to all of my friends.
One of the best Falafels I have ever had!! It was fried fresh on the spot.
