Awesome food whenever in Jacksonville have to visit best Mexican food and margaritas good service best staff . Good fish tacos and burritos.
I have only eaten in a few times but never had a problem with the service. I am rarely in a rush, so..... have had the 3 tacos ala cart and love them. For 6 bucks, its a steal. We order take out maybe once a month. Not big on combo platters but what I have had from there have been good. We really like the fried chimis (one of each) with the toppings on the side (to keep them crispy), The tamales (ala cart) have very flavorful pork and the masa (most of the time) is so perfectly fluffy but my absolute fav is the Bistec a la Mexicana. Tender steak that is tasty and grilled with tomatoes, onions, jalapenos and cilantro. Comes with 3 warm tortillas and I go to town. A bit spicy and just so good. If you eat in, they have Dos Equis Amber on tap. *hugs*
Okay Food. I was a little skeptical at first since we stood at the door and no one acknowledged us for a few minutes, and when I smiled at the hostess she rolled her eyes. That being said, once we were seated our server did a really good job. The salsa was fine as it had a little spice to it and the chips were warm and crunchy. The tamale and enchilada were both really small but had an 'okay' taste. The rice and beans were bland but served their purpose as 'plate filler'. The burrito was an ample portion, the chicken had a good seared taste and it was easy to taste all of the ingredients. The food was okay but kind of average at best.

Good salsa, chips were a little stale but it was also close to closing. The flavor of the Burritos Mexicanas was amazing!! By boyfriend also got a Chile Rellena platter that had even more awesome flavor! Very great place and good service :)
Mmmargaritas. I found the food and menu comparable to another popular Mexican food place here in Jacksonville. Perhaps a tad better. The atmosphere is certainly more laid back and relaxing..Especially after several of their lovely ($1.99) margaritas. I wouldn't hesitate to come again.
Favorite Restaurant. This place has the BEST chips and salsa I've ever tasted in my life....Oh and also BEST margaritas - SO good and they also have a lot of alcohol, haha. Beers are $1 and margaritas (regular and frozen are $2). The chicken is also GREAT! :)
Good food, good prices, good service, only problem was the bill was not individual for every one in a party of 5, that was the only problem i had

Repeat Customers. We stumbled across Los Portales Mexican Grill one day last fall. We've been back three or four times since. The food is amazing. The staff is friendly. The drinks are cheap. Love it!
