I was eager to try this place since Guy Fieri had been there but I should have gotten the chicken and waffles my coworker got! It came with strawberry butter and maple syrup mixed with hot sauce! I had blackened Mahi that was thick and rectangular so putting it on a round bun didn't help. Service was excellent despite the fact that the waitress dropped a syrup fork in my lap!
A Jacksonville institution! Since they have expanded, the wait is minimal and the service quick. The manager also came to check on us several times. Both the chicken and waffles and the Yo Hallah are delicious. Portions are large enough for two or leftovers for the next day.
The food is always fast and delicious. I love the options the menu provides. There is always a new special on the menu, offering inventive takes on breakfast classics. Definitely worth the wait!
I enjoy sitting close to the kitchen. The kitchen manager does a fantastic job of commanding the kitchen team in an upbeat and happy manner.
I made the mistake from straying from my usual today...although the apple yo challah is tasty for a bite or two, it is so sweet it made me sick.

Finally in my Neighborhood!. Three words: Chicken and Waffles. Soooo good! I only get to go on the weekends, because they are only open for breakfast and lunch, and there is always a wait, but that's just testament to the awesomeness of this place. So glad they opened a location in my neighborhood!
Huckleberry Rules!. We eat here often and love it! We have dietary allergies and they accommodate without hesitation! The food is amazing, and service is quick. We sat at the counter today and had the joy of watching Huckleberry call out and keep everything rolling on such a positive, high energy note! Customer service is impeccable!
Great breakfast!. I had a late breakfast here, corned beef hash, poached eggs and dry toast, my friend had biscuits and gravy. Tons of food, quick friendly service, awesome selection! This place is fantastic!
Meatloaf was the real deal, as were the veggies! Thursday soup of the day is gumbo and is outstanding! Packed at lunch time says it all!
Awesome Breakfast!. Jacksonville is blessed with many good places for breakfast. This restaurant deserves a place at the top of that list. The menu is creative, the food is plentiful and very well prepared. The service is attentive and friendly. Be prepared to wait in line if you show up after 9:00 am though. This place is popular!

My mom had the sausage biscuit breakfast and I had the special buttermilk chicken and stuffing waffle with sausage gravy. Both dishes were stellar as always!
10/10 recommend on the holiday feast!!! I had to work a 12 hour shift today so I had Metro help me out with my family's Thanksgiving dinner. Holy Moly so good! Imma be doing this every year. The mac & cheese in the picture I made, Holmes seasoned green beans from a can all I did was heat up, got extra rolls cause my kids like it. The rest came from metro, the Mexican street corn is amazing. Everything has great flavor. The cranberry sauce is exceptional. My kids cleaned their plates!
Chicken and Waffle is a must have at Metro.. Dipping the chicken in hot sauce with syrup changes all the taste buds in your mouth to crave for more. You have to try this at lease once.. :)
We came back! However, we all ordered something different. I had the croissant French toast with blueberries. It was light and flaky with just the right amount of powdered sugar. We started with the avocado toast with bacon and red onion. Which was not disappointing.
He had the chicken and waffles. They were served with a hot sauce syrup, and strawberry butter. The chicken was hot, crispy and juicy. The waffle was a malted waffle, which we always love. Our waitress was efficient, polite, and professional.
The atmosphere was all a buzz as it was a Sunday morning. No complaints from our crowd, thanks again for your service.
PURE 💯% DELICIOUSNESS! Everything, including my waiter and atmosphere was great! I was reminded just how good Metro Diner is. I'm so glad I visited and I'll be back, more sooner than later!
Every time we go, we get good services. I try something different each visit. The only thing I didn't like was chix n Waffle. My chix was dry, but the waffles were light n fluffy.
The perfect breakfast spot. I’m sure lunch is great too! From the minute we walked in, service was absolutely wonderful. Jamey was super attentive and helpful, she made our first time coming in that much more enjoyable. Their coffee flavor of the day was so good! I was a little hesitant at first but she reassured me that she’d be able to switch it right out if I didn’t enjoy it. Even with how busy she was, she didn’t pressure us one bit- just wanted us to fully enjoy our experience. Their carrot cake pancakes were amazing- perfect flavors and texture. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal, looking forward to coming back soon and trying more!
Our server Ms.Kate was super nice and caring to us early in the morning. She was on top of all our drinks and making sure we were satisfied all throughout our meal.

I personally love this Metro Diner. Our waitress was so nice and so was every other employee in there that we had an interaction with. They were quite busy, almost every table was full and they were still in great spirits and friendly. The service was fast as well. I will absolutely be coming back!!
Amazing lunch. We love metro diner. Me and my fiance stopped in and finally got the fried chicken and the iron city meatloaf. Honestly, the meatloaf blew me away. And I'm not a meatloaf person. And my fiance loved the fried chicken so much he ate it all before he even touched his sides. We even asked who the cook was, and we found out out was Josh. Kudos to Josh for amazing skills in the kitchen. And Nancy, our waitress, was super awesome. She was sweet and very attentive. Even made us laugh by taking selfies with us because we take too long to order. And of course, she kept the coffee coming strong and hot, which is my favorite diner coffee. Would visit again, especially if Nancy and Josh are helping us. Thanks guys!
