I've had Portillo's in Chicago and the food here is the same. If you've been to one you know what you are getting and it's good. I really enjoy the hot dogs, Italian beef and the chocolate cake. The combo of tomatoes, pickle, peppers, relish in the hot dogs work so well. The fries are tasty too. The service though, I felt was great. From the enthusiastic staff taking the orders and other staff around the restaurant, they were all nice. I'm glad they have locations further away from Chicago as it was a nice break on our drive home. It's a favorite of ours. Try it out if you haven't. It's pretty much a Chicago institution
It feels like you're eating the physical embodiment of perfection. The workers are so nice and the atmosphere makes me feel like I'm the most important person in the state, 10/10 would eat again (very soon)
First time at a Portillo’s and I was not disappointed! I’m from Atlanta so this spot was new to me. I ordered the #5 combo (Italian Beef & Sausage Combo w/ sweet peppers). The sandwich was delicious and the fries were good! You get a huge portion of cheese to dip the fries in, which was a surprise compared to other restaurant chains. Big fan! I’ll be returning next time I’m in town! Friendly staff at this location as well!
Portillos is a cool place with a lot of atmosphere and fairly good food. Stopped by here this afternoon with my little brother. I got a giant all beef hot dog with everything on it. And little brother got a double cheeseburger with lettuce, tomato and mayonnaise. We both got some french fries and a Coca-Cola. My all beef hotdog was nothing to brag about ordinary. But I could tell by the way my little brother was smiling. I had ordered the wrong thing. His double cheeseburger looked quite delicious. Crinkle fries were nice and crispy and a Coca-Cola‘s were icy cold. Worth another stop.
Great overall experience. This was our first time here, so we didn't know what to expect. My husband ordered the Itilian Beef sandwich, which he said was a tad dry. He ordered it the Portillo's way. Perhaps when we return, he'll order it wet, and that will make it better. I ordered a cheeseburger, which was delicious. Tasted like it was cooked on the BBQ. Very filling. The onion rings were so-so. We wouldn't get them again but then again we aren't onion rings kinda people.
Italian beef sub was well seasoned, but seemed dry to me and required a drink to finish some bites. It was better once I put my nacho cheese (for my fries) on the sub. Very clean and engaging interior of the restaurant. Plenty of posters and things to look at while you are eating and/or waiting for food. Staff was fairly helpful and food took about 5 minutes, but they weren’t busy when I went.
Mind-blowing interior design! Food is great as always. Tried their lemon cake for the first time and it was the best!

This place reminds me of my brief but memorable stay in Chicago I had a few months back. Great food here, especially the hot dogs and sausages. Portillo's is easily among my favorite places to eat at in Greenwood.
This is a blast from the past, old signs on the walls giving you a taste of nostalgia. The openness of the place is refreshing.
The menu is pricy but worth it. Two of us cost $28 - 1 hot dog, 2 jumbo dogs, choc cake, large fry and soda and two chicken noodle soup.
They have a full size classic car hanging from the ceiling.
Staff did roll their eyes quite a few times when we asked questions while ordering. The table rocked as we ate - bit annoying.
It was overall a fantastic place to eat and I’ll be back.
