By far the best service and food at any restaurant I’ve been to! Friends and I stop any time we’re in Indy. It’s especially good for vegans/vegetarians, and you won’t leave disappointed. So delicious, especially the vegan lentils combo!
Love this place, excellent food and great tea!!! I would recommend it to everyone.
The atmosphere here was really cool. The bar tender / server was quite friendly and helped me understand the menu. The portion was large enough for two.
I went to the Axum Ethiopian Restaurant in order to try new food 🥘.
The place was so clean and organized.
The service was excellent as well.
We ordered a Chef’s recommendation meat and vegan combos , 1 for 2 and 1 for an individual. Very tasty and colorful food, we really liked it! The bread was not my thing but overall I think is a nice place with a very good food.
If you are like me someone who loves to try new food please open your mind and respect other cultures 🫶🏻
Lunch meeting midday at Axum Ethiopian Restaurant was an excellent choice. We had the chicken and vegan special which served two with enough it could have served 3-4 people for a light lunch and great conversation. The ambiance was quiet, plenty of seating, and clean facility. The service was good, not exceptional, but good. The food was deliciously seasoned. I highly recommend you give the Axum Ethiopian Restaurant a visit to enjoy the cuisine.
The food is amazingly tasty and the lamb was very flavorful and strong, just how I like it. It was decently tender. Recommended.
I ordered takeout- a lamb dish and the deluxe vegan combo. The gentleman taking the order was very polite and made sure my order was ready when I needed it (i did not give them a huge lead time so I was relieved and grateful!). When I went to pick up, I found the interior very beautifully decorated and the gentleman equally as pleasant as kind in person.
The food was absolutely delicious!
Will definitely be coming back, hopefully to dine in. 😋
My first time coming was a roller coaster. The food and service was AMAZING but one of the homeless people went into my truck and stole my phone and money. The owners were MORE THAN understanding. I later returned and the food and service was still Amazing. I admire the Goddess that runs it. It seemed she was hosting, severing, cooking, bartending, and cashing out!!!!!! You go Mama's! Also the Decor is Beautiful. Artistry at its finest....
Great food, the taste of the flatbread is a bit sour. Friendly service, bathroom and the restaurant was clean. Service was a bit slow, they were out of mango juice, coffee ceremony. They don’t have desert in their menu, only entrees and drinks. Ethiopian coffee was very strong which is expected. I wish the amount of the coffee was smaller or paired with a condensed milk. Overall great place for an ethnic food experience.
I had a hankering for some spicy deliciousness and this place delivered! We had both lamb dishes. #3 is significantly spicier than #9 but both were fabulous....and the lentils!!! The injera was so fresh and flavorful....Run to see for yourself.
Went there for dinner and tried the Began platter. The same was served with injera.
Food: The same was like 6 curries served with injera. As this was a vegan combo so the portion was small of each curries. The injera was really tasty and two of the curries. The others were too mild and bland. This was probably the most authentic food you can get but wasn’t something I personally liked.
Ambience: Quite simple. Nothing flashy or extravagant. The service was also quite nice and the food came in timely.
My opinion: I like spicy food and more tasteful and this was too bland for my taste. Wouldn’t want to go to eat it
Never had Ehtiopian food until coming here. Got the chef's recommendation meat and vegan platter and it was really good. It's a great way to get a taste of the variety of dishes that they have. The service was very good too. Glad to have found this place online and look forward to going back.
